Surprisingly I got a lot done today...well kinda. I ran a bunch of errands.... with Kendra. It was nice to spend some one on one time with her... We had fun at the grocery store, being silly lil imps.

Later on I played on the Wii for a bit for some one on one time with Kayleigh

My positives (for today and yesterday)

Autumn is currently sitting on me rubbing her head against my face for even more attention, and I am so happy I gave her a chance that no one else was willing to.

Quincy slept with us without climbing on our heads, chasing Autumn across the bed or knocking anything off the dressers, he just snuggled up and purred with some kitty kisses throughout the night

A long term shelter resident was adopted yesterday by someone who came in saying she wanted an 'aloof' cat and wasnt put off by the fact that she is 7 years old.

Pet Pictures with Santa was a great success yesterday, we did more pics yesterday than all of last weekend, and I am very thankful to our local newspaper for letting us have half of the front page as well as another half page inside the paper in free advertising (although the photo of the puppy kissing Santa on the front page is also a draw for them too)

Oh and I love love love Old English Sheepdogs and someone brought their pair for pics with Santa so I had cuddles!

And I actually have a day off with no work at home weighing on my mind, I left my files in the office on Friday and got someone to cover for me at the shelter. So the two of us have a day off together and we are not doing a thing but chilling out at home watching football and playing with the kitties.

That's great to hear I can relate because back in 2002 I wanted those same cat traits (aloof, not young) -- but fate arranged Penny to be my first kitty (yup, a 7-week old kitten, but she's a nice combo of aloofness and sweetness

I am happy because I woke up feeling great even though I had been ill all day Sunday with what I suspect was food poisoning from some take-out wings I had Saturday for dinner. My O.A. seems to be behaving itself today even though there's snow in the forecast and I haven't had to say ouch ouch ouch once today. If that isn't a reason to rejoice I don't know what is...

I'm positive today because my two vegemites are five days old! I'm so glad they've made it this far.
Although we lost two of the babies (RIP Piggy Pratt) one is still going strong and she is 9 days today. For this I am positive.

Three weeks ago, we rescued nine puppies that had been thrown away in a sack when they were under a week old, we lost one within a day - yesterday the other 8 came in for a check up and so their fostermoms could get more supplies and they are all doing well and little piglets!

I am positive because we adopted out three adult black cats today as well as two black and whites when we have cute fluffy kittens that people could be choosing

I am also thankful that people have realised that we are not the same as a nearby humane society which is being investigated for animal cruelty and hopefully animals wont be left out in the winter weather because people think all humane societies are the same

It SNOWED! Like, it snowed, and it STUCK! I'm in El Paso, TX (on the far west of TX bordering NM and Mexico) and I know it might not seem like a major deal to some but I'm from NY/NJ so I'm accustomed to snow EVERY winter and I haven't seen REAL snow since Feb 2004! (I saw a bit back in Feb 06 but nothing like NJ snow) so this to me actually made me tear up a bit

It is a beautiful sunny day here today which is great considering all the nasty weather we had for the last few days. It always amazes me how sunshine can improve one's mood so quickly. Yesterday I also attended my first meeting of the chronic pain support group I joined and found it very enlightening. I think I am going to benefit a great deal from it. All in all today is shaping up to be a good one.

Yay! The Dr said I could very carefully and very gradually start walking!!!! I feel sorry for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (the crutches) as they have been good friends, but soon, I will no longer need them.

I needed smiles, so I read through this thread. I am thankful for ALL of the wonderful things that people have posted here.

...and I got my first Christmas card in the mail today, and that brought a lot of smiles too.

I've gotten out of bed way early the last 2 days - 5:30 yesterday and 4:45 this morning. DH asked me if I was going to be one of the "retirees" that wake up way too early each day. I realized that I'm more eager to get a start on the day when I don't have to drive into the office, and that brought a huge smile on my face. I'm tired right now, but it's a good relaxing tired.

I am in a positive mood about Christmas!

P.S. I started a thread like this in another forum, and it got buried by other threads in like an hour I think it was a great idea though!

Chris, you always make me smile!

And Amy - I know you're a morning person - but that's pushing it! I'm so glad to hear how happy you are though, that's for sure!

I'm so happy that I have the talent to make cool things. It's putting the true spirit of giving (and not just buying) into the holidays, and not to mention it's so much better on the budget.

I'm happy that DH shampooed the carpet yesterday. The wet dog smell is gone!

I'm thankful that the ice maker on my freezer started to work again magically last night. It stopped working a week ago and we have no idea what made it suddenly start working again. Must be magic.

Today was a good day! I got to spend my entire day designing for a customer! Got almost all of her Christmas stuff done and she was thrilled (I go back Tuesday after class to finish decorating her house.)

After I designed, I met Jack at his aunt's house to help him babysit her Boston Terrier puppy for a few hours while she was out of town. We had pizza for a late supper and had a blast plaing with the puppy until she got home! We visited with her for a little while then called it a night. (I'm very thankful Jack's family treats me like one of their own )
