Yum, Susan.

We are going to have shrimp but they aren't fresh off the boat. They are fresh out of a box where they have probably been 6 months before I even purchased them
I will like them anyway.

Spare ribs and baby back ribs, grilled chicken, salad with almonds, potatoes, macaroni and cheese, creamed spinach, coconut cream pie and pecan pie.
Happy Independence Day to those celebrating!

For me a pan seared virgina ham with provolone cheese in grilled bread with a side of thin sliced potato fryed to a crisp.
In other words, a ham and cheese sammich with some potato chips

Left-overs for me tonight. I made a chicken salad sandwich, made some left-over potato's into salad as well and some cheese and crackers on the side. It was actually very light but very good....

There's no place like home
BBQ ribs, corn on the cob, baked beans, tortellini salad, tomato salad, german potato salad, fresh pineapple and cantelope, olives, and for desert: trifle and home made ice cream.

I'm about to gain about 10 pounds.

Ummm...well, the local usage seems to be "prawns" for the big ones and "shrimp" for the small ones. At what size do they graduate from "shrimp" to "prawn"? Your guess is as good as mine.

And they were AWESOME -- some of the loveliest we've had. Five of us devoured 7 pounds. I did in the end put out a bit of a salad bar, since there were a couple present who have recently discovered issues with grains, so I was not sure how they were going to be with bread. And dessert -- yes, even after that pigout we wanted dessert -- was fresh cherries with the third
bottle of wine.

Anyway, that was the first feed of the summer -- we'll do it again once or twice.

And tonight? I think pork cutlets on the BBQ -- I have a really nice little rub that we like. May grill some asparagus and do some nugget potatoes, or maybe do pita sammiches. For dessert, fruit -- there are still cherries, or raspberries, or mango...

Tonight we're having hot dogs w/sauerkraut. And baked beans.

My DH's cooking abilites are limited, I'm greatful that he's been doing so much and taking such good care of me. I feel guilt, but there's nothing to do about it.

over a pound each!! That's definitely not a shrimpy meal!

Hey don't feel guilty! You're in pain and need to heal, so just take a break and let DH look after you.

Last night I made chimichangas which are so darn tasty and unhealthy!

Tonight I have the urge to cook something a little more fancy, but don't know what yet. I foresee a trip to the supermarket today. And now I'm craving coconut pie thanks to Pami!

Well, don't forget that half of that weight (approx) is the head and shell. It's still a pigout, but not quite as extreme as it seems at first glance.

For tonight, pasta. Spaghettini, I think, with homemade pesto, and assorted other friendlies.

OMG, can you even imagine Wellington covered in snow? It's already crazy enough to drive around.

Tonight was soup from a box and toast, washed down by a couple of beers. Yep, I'm on my second beer already!
We've already had snow here once in Wellington this winter. It didn't last long though but it still came!

It's a very balmy 8c here today. I rekon I could handle -25!

Not sure what's for tea tonight. Maybe some oven baked fish & chips before I head out to a meeting.

Sam, you call it tea as well like us
Yup, sometimes I call it dinner but it's usually tea. I'm very patriotic to my motherland!

Tea for me was weird tonight.
I had oven baked fish with an english muffin with tasty cheese and a chocolate chip cookie for pud!

I only call it dinner, if i'm out after 7.30.p.m with the girls for a meal, earlier than that it's tea

Yes, that's some concoction you've had there

Quite lazy today so just picked up a nice roast beef sandwich at the little deli down the street. I will have that with some raw veggies, and some left-over potato salad I have in the fridge.

It was a late night last night, and our guest decided not to drive home. When he surfaces, I'll go up and make some waffles for breakfast. My brain can't handle dinner yet.
