Ummm...well, the local usage seems to be "prawns" for the big ones and "shrimp" for the small ones. At what size do they graduate from "shrimp" to "prawn"? Your guess is as good as mine.Originally Posted by pushylady
sounds good! Just curious, I thought "prawns" was a British/ Australasian way of saying "shrimp". Do you say prawns over in the West Coast, or do you just happen to more sophisticated than your average Canuck?

And they were AWESOME -- some of the loveliest we've had. Five of us devoured 7 pounds.
Hey don't feel guilty! You're in pain and need to heal, so just take a break and let DH look after you.Originally Posted by spudsmom

Well, don't forget that half of that weight (approx) is the head and shell. It's still a pigout, but not quite as extreme as it seems at first glance.Originally Posted by pushylady
over a pound each!! That's definitely not a shrimpy meal!
Oh I love baby new potatoes!Originally Posted by Rosiemac

We've already had snow here once in Wellington this winter. It didn't last long though but it still came!Originally Posted by pushylady

Tonight was soup from a box and toast, washed down by a couple of beers. Yep, I'm on my second beer already!
I'm having that tonight, with baby new potatoes again followed by strawberries with a yogurt poured over.Originally Posted by babyharley

Yup, sometimes I call it dinner but it's usually tea. I'm very patriotic to my motherland!Originally Posted by Rosiemac
