Wow, JT. Should I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving? I think I will anyway.

Maybe you can get yourself right and then use the cat railroad to get Wilbur and Tinker back. Think of it as a temporary separation.

I also have a couple of links in my PM inbox that someone here sent me with other cat transpo networks. I can send them along when the time is right.
(something to keep you afloat!)

I'm glad to hear that you at least have a few options going. Here's another big
to get through the next little while and plenty of good luck that things work out as soon as possible.

Well I sure thank everyone for the nice replies. I knew I'd get positive feedback here.

I decided the way I'm going to do this. Tomorrow at 9am they'll pick up my cats. I'll spend the day whining to myself i'm sure.

I managed to sell my 30 inch monitor today. The reason is this. it's HUGE. it will cost a LOT to ship it and have someone pack it. So I sold it for 400 (new it's going for about 1300. it's a dell 3007wfp). I'm going to order two 22 inch monitors to replace it when I get back. I priced two i like and it'll be about 350 with free shipping so I lucked out. I'll actually get close to a wash and end up with 2 22 inch monitors. I made a little money if you take into account the cost i'd have had to pay shipping, and i was 50 bucks to the good anyway. So i probably make 100 bucks.

I also decided I really need a day of peace. A couple years ago I worked at a 4 month job in Louisiana. They paid hotel expenses and I didn't go home. I stayed the whole time in one hotel room. I got the points
. So I've got about 40,000 points still at the Mariott. I reserved a room at the Phoenix Mariott For Saturday. I'll ship my PC off Saturday morning, take my time and pack, have a shuttle pick me up and take me to the hotel. I'll try to unwind a little and relax. I think this whole thing has really taken a toll on me. IF i can manage to relax, i'll get a good night's sleep and catch the plane to arkansucks. Actually I got a break there too. Sunday flight for 390 OTD. Same price as coach but I got first class. so the flight will be relaxing. Well to Atlanta anyway. From there to Little Rock it's a puddle jumper regardless of airline. I get home sunday afternoon. I'll take a shuttle from Little Rock to Hot Springs and be done with it.

I'm hoping that stretching this a little and taking the free day at a nice hotel will allow me to put things in perspective. Selling the monitor takes a big burden off me so all i have to ship is my PC and some personal stuff. I'm a pack rat so I've got boxes and packing material all over the place.

I think I'm doing the right thing.

EDIT: Keep in mind, the hotel is for a good reason. I've been without electricity since Tuesday right? no air conditioning, hot water, no fridge, no oven etc. I'm using a single outdoor extension cord that's plugged into my computer, a lamp and a crappy tv i had in the bedroom. Cold showers do NOT feel good.especially in the dark

I don't blame you, JT. I think it's a good move. A little decompression.... you've been through a lot in a very short period of time. Take heart... we're thinking of you and rooting for ya!

So sorry for all you are going through. Better times are ahead.

My daughter has asthma along with severe cat allergies. I understand your concern for your mother. Can you have your cats live in your room and NOT the rest of the house. Your mom would never have to come in contact with them. This works very well for my daughter.

Wishing you and your babies the best.

Everytime I try to reply, my internet fades away and I can't post! So finally... I'm sorry to hear about the crappy situation and I hope that everything comes together and you're able to get your kitties back. Good luck!

For what it's worth, JT, I actually like Arkansas. It's just a tough place to get a job for someone like me, unless I drove a truck. Which I did, and made very good money at it, thank you.

Get settled in, and maybe we can come up and go to Coy's for a steak some evening.

I DO like Hot Springs, by the way.

I've been following this post for the past couple of days, and was heartened as I read along, to see you gradually making plans. I have found that when the crap hits the fan, making a plan eases the situation. You definitely have some pretty clear plans now, and that's a good thing....and you actually sound more at ease with the situation as you've developed plans to handle it.

Good for you!!!

Wishing all the luck in the world to you. I really have a strong feeling you'll come through this safely at the other end.

Thanks everyone. Things are a little hard right this moment. it's 1.5 hours until I have to say goodbye and I am sadder than I ever remember being.

I'll get through it. hopefully it'll be easier once they're gone, but boy does this suck

They definitely know. They're staying very close to me and trying to cuddle. they never do that.

If anyone knows a good priced place to look for tranporting them to hot springs or little rock let me know. i think that would help, knowing i could get them back shortly

Are you sending along an old tshirt or something with familiar smells on it? It could help them in their transition in the new place.

JT, you are in my thoughts and prayers this morning. I can't imagine what you're going through having to give up your babies, even temporarily. I hope someone can come up with a way to get them back to you very soon.

maybe we can set up a TCS relay? i'd be glad to take a DFW area to OKC or East Texas run [something around 3-4 hours, one-way]...

Wow. What a fantastic idea. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely join in.

If this could work out, it would be one of the coolest things I've seen happen because of the internet.
