i do that, too - & at work, i have the taskbar only appear when the cursor is down there, as well.

I have you beat...by 10!! I have 61!!! I was a bit suprised that I had that many. Most are Astronomy Programs and Open Office programs.

The rest are things I accidently saved to desktop instead of harddrive (pics, etc) and a few links to games I already uninstalled but it didn't take the short cut off. I guess I should clean it up, but with my house, the least of my worries is how cluttered my desktop is!

14 icons. I made a folder for "desktop icons" so I could find stuff that would normally be saved to the desktop (like programs).

The picture is at Isle of Palms, SC - where Rob proposed to me as well as where we spent the first 2 nights after we were married It was taken from our beachfront hotel room.

I wipe 5 icons to keep it clear, my DH adds 10!! Its a losing battle!

I now edit depending on the picture! I hate having a beautiful pic for someone (grr) to cover it in icons!

Whats the facebook thing? I have facebook set to my home page but would love a shortcut! lol!

I've become a stickler over the years about my desktop. I use to have hundreds of icons on it. At least it seemed that way. But as time has gone on I've changed.

I figured when I got this big 30 inch monitor I'd flood my desktop with icons. But what I ended up doing was making the icons bigger and only keeping a select few on the desktop.

To be fair, i still have lots of icons, but instead of on my desktop they're in the 'WiP' folder which stands for 'Work In Progress'

You really want to mess with your DH? this is fun.

Take a full screenshot of your desktop.

Open the picture fullsize in MS Paint. Then just leave it there. It'll take him a while to figure out he's madly clicking on a picture. not the icons.

And yes this fools computer literate people for awhile too

This is bad but I have this overwhelming need to clean your desktop. I am sitting her thinking why does she need the install file and the shortcut to the installed file. must clean

Well at least it looks pretty

My BF downloaded something to my desktop today and didn't move it off so I have banned him from my puter

ok I worked on it! What do you think now? DH is annoyed with me though because I asked him 100?'s which all sounded like this "Is it ok if I delete this?"

**I didnt chose the colors in my house it was like that when we moved in! We havent had time to make it look pretty yet

Mine's not too bad: I only have 12. I don't like to have more than two rows of icons, so if it starts getting past that point, I clean them up. I never could stand too much clutter..

OMG! That's hilarious!

My s/o would go totally insane if I did that to him. He always yells "Help" for me to come to his aid, just for something as simple as getting to his e-mail account.

Hate the crowded tumult......

Here's my desktop. Right now it only has 19 icons but it has been over 50 before. P.S. Some of you should recognize the kitty I have as my background.

How can everyone handle XP's default blue and green? At least try some themes, the default clashes terribly with so many people's pretty wallpapers. And gosh people, take some stuff out your start up. You only bog your PC's down that way.

I finally got around to taking a cap - this is my 4th desktop. My reading desktop (for ebooks). Those are not icons. The upper right hand corner is the pager - those are my different desktops and the upper left is my ibox - that's where minimized programs go. All modules can be loaded or unloaded, including a dock if I wished to use one.

Maybe some people like it?

I don't have that much in my start up but I do keep open programs in the system tray
