But I don't wanna let them go!!!
Seriously.....this is hard.....I keep crying & laughing.....I'm happy but my stomach is in knots.

How will I sleep without PJ plastered to my side?
How will I get homework done with Punky commenting as he sits on the desk & "reads" along with me?

This sucks.

It is hard to let cats go that have been with you for so long and are part of the family, I know, I let a cat go that had been with me for 14 months. But, if they are a great family, it is the best thing for them, they will get their forever home, and it means you have space to help more needy cats, and that is why we do it, to help as many cats as possible, not to keep them.

Tell them all of TCS needs visitation rights (or at least pictures)...oh, I understand the conflict here!

for a good home for both of them
for Dorky to move on without his little buddies
for you to concentrate on your homework

I don't know how I missed this earlier! I hope everything works out for the boys... though I must admit

I don't want them to be adopted either for the simple fact the in the back of my mind I was secretly hoping they'd still be available when I have a house and could convince my husband that we're meant to have them since they share his b-day. Of course, it'll be at least another year before we move so it's probably for the best.

Their two kitties were declawed.
That means they'll probably mutilate my boys.

I can't decline them simply based on that, either.

On my application I ask if they plan to de-claw, and if any of their other cats are de-clawed. Those are the first questions I look at and if the answer is yes to either one, I don't even read the rest of the application.

Because if we decline based on declawing, then we'd be euthanizing something like 80% of the cats that come in. For these boys especially, because they are highly unadoptable, I can't decline based on declawing. The only way I can think of to not approve them is if I adopt PJ & Punky, and I simply cannot do that.

ETA: There is no way for me to get around this. Simple fact is : we adopt to homes where they declaw. Remember sweet Jade? Declawed. Confetti? Declawed.
