She'll be euthanized. It is up to the new owners & the vet to asses her quality of life. They plan to use the same vet who is doing the surgery, so that helps quite a bit. Her recovery will be monitored closely.

I have to take my Lily in at 1:45 today....so sometime later this afternoon I should have a Bea update.
I'm nervous, I kind of don't want to see her, but I do.

This was my decision, I can only hope & pray I made the right one for her.

Natalie, your choice was this or to euthanize her now. You are trying to give her one last shot at a decent quality of life before ending it. Don't question yourself. This problem was not of your making and your are just trying to provide the best future for Bea that you can.

Oh bless your heart, you didn't have any other choice.
You had to give her another chance at a pain free life.

Exactly!

You are giving her a chance at a happy life with a wonderful new family and home and hopefully she won't be in pain anymore and can walk and live the life of a (mostly) normal cat.

I look forward to an update about the sweet girl when you get back!

This recently happened to my husband's co-worker's cat (several claws growing back). She is just sick about it and regrets ever declawing her cats.

Saw my baby girl. She is messing on herself her feet hurt so bad.

The vet had to go in & dig around, he said it was a million times worse than a regular declaw.

She's so upset....biting, growling, in extreme pain so they're pumping her full of pain meds.

Of the kitties in there, one was just a neuter, the other 8 were declaws.

I ran outside & threw up in my truck. The one kitty....he was waking up but not smoothly. He flipped some, hit a paw, and was just screaming bloody murder it must've hurt so bad.

Oh sweetie! We knew it was going to be bad.
My heart is breaking for you, for Bea, and for the other kitties! But she's got a shot to BECOME pain free now, so just focus on that!

Sending HUGE vibes that she recovers fully and will be pain free ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a horrible experience for you, not to mention the poor baby

I really hope the pain meds kick in quick to give some swift relief
And don't even think of beating yourself up either Nat!. Karen said it perfectly.

Your giving this baby a second chance in life, so i truly hope she gets through this

Natalie, I hope the pain meds kick in quick for Bea and that once she heals that her paws are better than before.
