Bustopher, the Tail Less Needs to Poop Wonder!

Check out Bustopher, he ain't got no tail!

He's my latest foster kitty. He had surgery to fix his bum & get neutered on Wed. He hasn't pooped yet. So, he's with me until he poops & then we'll see what happens!

He's really friendly!

Check out his back paw, there's no hair on it in spots!

He has no tail, just that little bit of hair that sticks out.

aw, poor little guy- he is just gorgeous!

Oh he's so cute! Where did his name come from? I'd be calling him Busty for a nickname!

This is him now:

Well, actually, he's stretched out his leg & his head is hanging off the chair. I think he's adjusted well, don't you guys agree?

ETA: Not sure where the name came from, I purrsonally think it's dumb. The vet clinic named him.

how cute is he!!! Nat- it can take between 7-10 days after surgery sometimes for them to have a BM. Just watch him closely for any signs of complication from his surgery.

Awwww....I wish the best for him!!!

Thanks Nikki! The vet never said a time frame for him to poop.

Poor baby! Do you know what happened to his bum?
He is a handsome one.

OMG I love tail-impaired cats!!!

Is he an actual Manx or was his tail amputated? His back legs look longer than normal so I'd guess he is an actual Manx. If so, he's called a "nubbie".

Prior to Stumpy (half tail) being our alpha cat, we had Max (full Manx) as our alpha. They have the cutest little butt wiggles in the world!

Bustopher Jones is a cat from T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, which the musical Cats is based on.

Awwww, what a doll!

Aww, looks to me like a kity that needs a bit of love I love his Tail That Is Not There!

That little fluff for a tail reminds me of my parent's dogs' tails. So cute! I hope he's doing well and that he gets his, er, 'functions' back again.

Well, he pooped. It stunk, & was loose enough to drip from him. I had to leave him at the shelter today the diarrhea was so bad. But, he is being placed on Petfinder as a Manx/DSH X. He has NO tail whatsoever!

How CUTE is he... I'd have named him Bob

I'm glad he poop'd... I'm sure he'll get back to normal soon (the consistancy) poor fellow.

A funny story about my OTB Manx. The first time I brought him to my vet, he was going to check his stool for worms. He would always take them in the office rather than having me bring it in. He goes to grab for his tail and says "oops - how do I do this with no tail?" Then he giggled. Then told me he hasn't had a lot of Manx's and needed to learn a new technique.

I love red cats. I love Manx's. You've got yourself a winner there!!

So, was I right labeling him a Manx/DSH X? Or should I just label him a Manx X?

Poor Vet! You got him pretty confused about that!

He is a very handsome boy...
I am sending lots of vibes that a loving human realizes how special he is and opens their heart and home to him.

I'd call him a Manx X. Manx's can come in any color and the DSH probably doesn't matter. Mine was grey/white but I've seen red/white and tuxedo's before.

Does he have a "wide body"? A full blood Manx's arms and legs are set wider apart than other cats, making them a bit more boxy looking. Mine would lay on my DH's chest and could drape his arms and legs down DH's sides. His hind legs should also be longer than his front legs, which we called the "jacked up back end". Most also have a very confident attitude and will generally rule the household.

I don't know that he has a wide body.....I never looked & I don't think it was terribly obvious.....

Hooray I love tailless kitties!! Can the vet confirm whether he's a Manx or whether he just lost his tail in an accident, or through amputation?

The vet thinks the tail is natural. Although, he's never seen a Manx before!
Aww cute little thing. Is he blind in one eye, or is it just the light?

I ginger kitties

It's just the light.
