I had gotten an e-mail from the person I got a phone number, I sent it to Britini, I told her to call her and tell her it was me and told her to go pick up the kitten, send a friend or whatever, so that she could get her back.

Last message I got from Britini around 6 or so was that she was calling her.

I'm interested to know what happened.

I am hoping that she's got her

Me too. I didn't get any angry e-mail from the person... LOL... so. It would assume things must have gone ok.

Just have to wait to hear the news...

I called last night and this morning and was able to leave a message this time. I wanted to try and be honest and call as "myself" first. All I said in the message was "if you are needing to find her a new home, I'd love to adopt her back from you". I haven't heard back yet. If I don't hear back by this evening, I'll have someone else call and go "adopt" her for me.

Well I would say when you have a friend call... to have them say they are "Louri" since I am the one that was e-mailing with her. & to apologize for not calling sooner, since she did e-mail *me* the phone number...

Anyway... hope all goes well. I'm betting she's waiting for Louri to call as she said she'd wait for my call.

RI the littlest stop on the map..........
It doesn't sound like she is going to contact you (What a piece of work) will check back with you later.
I had emailed them the other day but never received a reply back but if you need me to do it again just PM me.

I just want to add, DON"T blame your self! I do know how you feel and felt the same, but as time has gone on, I have forgiven myself, and realized it wasn't MY fault! So don't feel like you could have done better, you never know. I HAD a contract, signed by an adopter, it states they can't be de-clawed, allowed out, and I take kittens/cats back at any time. They let him out and he got hit and killed by a car, I felt I failed him and I should have found a better owner, but I had no idea they were going to let him go out, so don't feel bad, just do what you can to get her back, if you can.

They just e-mailed me, she is waiting for *ME* to call... you need to do something. She said that she has other interested families that will come get the kitten. But she wanted to get in touch with me first before she contacted them.

If you want that kitten I suggest you have a friend call as Louri and pick up that kitten. If not, she has other families interested
which is what I figured from the start.

I agree!

I know its hard and I know theres probably nothing we can say to make you stop blaming yourself, but always remember that liars are *very* good at what they do! There's that old saying that "the bigger the lie, the more people will believe it"

Sometimes its hard to tell the difference between a really good home and a really bad home. There have been times I was turned down to adopt a cat - ME! The girl who sings to her furkids, cooks them food 2x/day (Boo won't eat raw
), and arranges for her MIL (the former vet tech) to come by and check on them if I'm going to be gone more than a few hours. Me, the girl who can't walk two feet without tripping over someones toys and whose mother actually refers to the furkids as her grandbabies. I'm not trying to toot my own horn here... all I'm trying to say is my babies are spoiled, and even I've been turned down in favor of someone who lied through their teeth and ended up dropping the cat off at a local kill shelter after a week. And I don't fault the foster mom... she honestly thought the other family was better.

I'm not trying to make you feel worse... just trying to say that some people just know what to say.. they know what heartstrings to tug... they know how to look you in the eye and swear up and down that the baby will have the best life imaginable, even if they know its not true. It's not your fault. Sometimes, it just happens. It's all about how you deal with it after it happens, and right now I think you're doing a fantastic job

I, too, just received an email from her offering Cleo. Do you have any friends who could take the $50 and go pick her up? Do we have anyone in the TCS rescue that could do this?
