I love the Pussycat Dolls!

I hate anything by Mike Jones (the rapper) every of his songs, he has to yell his name... seriously, that bugs me!
Otherwise, I love everything!

I also like the Barbie song....am I the only one???

Ok, I used to like rap/hip-hop music, but the artists today suck. Especially that song "this is why I'm hot" are you kidding me?! They are making $ off of that?! Or the ones that talk about horrid things, there is one that tells of a little girl that gets molested by her mom's BF....the "little lisa's only 9 yrs old" song.... really people, and my child can listen to the radio and hears things like that....that's real nice to listen to....
to be fair, I think it's a good thing that these things are sung about. It's better than sweeping it under the rug and pretending it doesn't exist. There are a lot of people out there who can relate to that song, I'm sure.. and to hear Ludacris (who is the artist who sings it) acknowledging it and putting it out there - I think it shows he cares. I'm sure he's not doing it for any other reason.

As for your kids hearing it - that's why it's good to monitor what your kids are listening to, and not to let them hear anything you don't think is appropriate
It's true they may hear it when they're out, but still, it does really happen, and if anything it may open up a dialogue about abuse. With the fact that so many young girls are abused, I think talking about it, removing the stigma of it, is important.

As for songs I think are stupid - anything by the Pussycat Dolls..they just come off as slutty and brainless, and I can't fathom why anyone would like them. They're nothing without their producers - their songs are written by others, theyre told how to sing, what to wear by others.. theyre the epitome of what's wrong with the music industry today. They're soul-less.

Think I read that somewhere about someone else...MaryKate & Ashley maybe? Wait...they don't sing, do they? LOL! Which shouldn't mean much, they can probably hold their own against some of today's...uh...singers.

sadly, it could apply to a lot of 'artists' today.. it's all about production these days, and appealing to the largest amount of people. I mean these artists don't write their songs, have someone produce them and tell them exactly how to sing, have their voice run through ProTools (sort of like the audio version of Photoshop) to smooth over any m istakes or variances in pitch or tone - to suck all the soul out of the vocal, in other words. Then they have someone come show them exactly how to dance (usually in lockstep with a bunch of other dancers), a stylist to tell them what to wear, a makeup artist to make them look 'perfect', and an advisor from the record co to teach them what not to say in interviews as to not cause any controversy or be confused with someone who actually has an opinion.

There are still bands with soul though... I love Dirty Pretty Things, the Paddingtons, Babyshambles, Amy Winehouse - people who's music sounds real

Oh, I LOVE JoDee Messina's My Give a Damn's Busted! That's awesome!

There's two country songs that just get on my nerves.

Dusty Drake's "Say Yes" This song just sounds so selfish! Seriously, if I was proposed to with "How'd you like to be in my wedding?" I would probably slap the guy!

Tim McGraw's "Last Dollar" STUPID! And I know it's supposed to be cute to have his daughters and the producer's kids singing at the end, but it sounds forced (especially one kid's "accent"), and it drives me nuts.

Last years songs that I hate: "You Had a Bad Day" I thought it was dumb when they snubbed an American Idol. It wasn't better without the show. And "You're Beautiful". I just hate that song.

The old skool raps I liked but the new skool...eh. Not so much.
Like someone else said rap is just terrible now w/how they degrade women and basically sing about nothing.
