Well.. if you are going to beg!
That's not begging, that's asking nicely

Tell me about you fondest memory?

Do you have a christmas tree up?
We don't celebrate Christmas, but we will put up a Yule tree on the 8th December.

Do you wrap presents or do you put them in gift bags?
For Christmas/Yule, we wrap; the rest of the year mostly I use gift bags. My friends and I keep and reuse them, so it feels least wasteful.

What is the most embarising thing that has ever happened to you?
I can't put that here! But it's HILARIOUS.

How old were you when you left home?
14

How often do you sing along with the radio?
Almost never - I don't really listen to the radio.

Do you like to play video games?
Yes. I have a narrow range of taste, but the games I enjoy I'm very loyal to (Baldur's Gate series, NeverWinter Nights series, Sims)

What is the uglies outfit you own?
I don't think I have one right now. (I keep very little in my closet - I buy as little as I can get away with of the best I can afford).

Why did you buy it?
See above

Post a picture of said outfit.
See above

What does your shower curtain look like?
Transculent white.

How often do you clean the shower?
Well, it's a shower in a bath, so once or twice a week when I'm doing the bath. BF sprays the shower down every time he's in it (often twice a day).

What did you each for lunch?
I didn't. I had left over pizza for brunch though.

Can I have some too?
You could have if you were here. People don't usually escape my house unfed.

Have you ever wanted to learn to ride a bike?
No. They are death traps.

Can you rollerskate?
Yes - well, I could as a kid.

Can you iceskate?
Not well, and I nearly got killed so I never got to go back (no real oppurtunites where I live now, either).

Do you like snow?
Yes.

When was the last time you saw the ocean?
This summer.

Have you ever been to Idaho?
No. I never left New England when I was in the States.

Do you like Idaho Potatoes?
Yes.

Do you think I live in Idaho? (nope, MI)
No, but I didn't know where you did live til you said MI.

Can you hop scotch?
No.

Have you ever played tether ball?
No.

Do you like My Little Pony?
I did as a little kid. Probably still would given half a chance.

Do you drink beer? If so, what kind?
No, just wine and spirits.

Does BF? What kind?
BF does, lots of different kinds.

If you were to die tomorrow what is the one thing you would regret not having done? not having said to someone? Why haven't you done either yet?
There's nothing I would regret saying - I always say it because you never know.

Doing? Probably getting my PhD.

Thats all for now!

Thank you!

My eyes are green. You are always welcome at my house!
Cool.

What do you think is sexier boxers or briefs?
Boxers

Have you ever slept on a waterbed? If so, did you like it?
No.

Are you organized?
Yes.

Are you an early bird or night owl?
Naturally, an early bird. But I live on BF time now, so a night owl most of the time.

Do you like camping?
I don't know. I suspect not.

Do you read the newspaper daily?
No. In fact, I hardly ever read the paper.

Do you think camels are beautiful?
No.

Do you like going to the zoo?
They make me sad.

Do you know why elephants are afraid of mice?
No, and I'm not sure that they really are. I've heard it's because the elephants are scared that the mice will run up there nose, which makes sense considering how annoying little insects are too us.

Have you ever used an outhouse?
Once, when I was really little, unless public bathrooms at rest stops count - then a few times.

Do you like public speaking?
Yes, and I'm very good.

When did you first start writing?
At the level I do now? Probably about seventeen.

Are your fingernails long?
Medium.

Bath or shower?
I shower at the moment, but I like baths occasionally as a comfort thing.

How do you drink your coffee?
Sweet, with lots of milk and cream... I like things like lattes and mochas

Do you like Columbian coffee?
The bean? Probably. I'm not snobby about coffee.

Earl Grey tea?
Adore it - my absolute favourite tea in the world is this cinnamon tea - totally ordinary supermarket own brand tea - that BF picked up in Amsterdam.

Have you ever eaten french fries with vinegar?
Yes.

Mustard?
No.

Do you like baked fish?
Yes, at least the way I do it.

If someone cursed you, would you curse them back?
It depends on the kind of cursing you're talking about.

Do you garden?
Yes, with notiable lack of success.

Have you ever grown your own vegetables or herbs?
Herbs, yes. Vegtables, no.

Do you have a favorite flower?
White roses.

Do you like to receive flowers as a gift?
I do.

Are you satisfied where you are in your life right now?
Mostly.

Does your BF treat you like the Queen that you are?
He does. I'm addressed as "My Princess" quite frequently, too.

Have you ever heard "Its your life, make it delicious" ? (My new motto)
Now I have - and what a good motto it is too!

You are on a roll now!!!!
Making sure that you have more questions & you keep your rating of a '10'.

...........................................................................

First movie you ever watched?
No idea! I definitely watched Jaws though at age 3.

When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
At five, I wanted to be a ballet dancer. I eventually gave that up around age 10, because I knew that I hadn't been trained in time. Then I wanted to be a guide dog trainer for about a year, before I realized that I wanted to go to West Point and become career army. Sadly, that dream was shattered too when I was exiled to Ireland.

If you were reincarnated, what do you want to come back as?
A cartographer.

Would you rather use the computer for your writing or a paper and pen?
Yes, I would only have to type it out anyway, and I'm a pretty fast typist. I love pens and paper, but I don't think my handwriting does them justice.

Favourite site on the internet?
Are you kidding? TCS!

What's the meanest thing you have done recently?
I don't do mean things.

What language do you find the most fascinating?
Irish. It sounds like what I imagine the world would sound like if it could talk.

What's one item that I will always find in your fridge?
butter, milk and cream.

What's your favourite spice?
Cayenne Pepper.

What is one holiday you could do without or find unnecessary?
I think we need more, not less holidays.

Favourite shampoo?
Currently, Faith in Nature.

How expensive is real estate in your area? Average price for a starter home?
Very, very very: about 200K euros (which translates to 266.3K USD, 304.9 CAD, 134.5K GBP)

What's winter like in your area?
Mild and rainy. It rarely freezes, and almost never snows.
I apologize if any are repeats
That's ok!

Why do you not voluntarily go to Cork?
I'm from Kerry. We don't like Cork.

How do you drive on some of the narrow country roads?
I never drive anywhere! As far as being taken there, probably only a few times a year.

How often do you see a rainbow?
Several times a year. It really does rain all the time here.

Is there anything in Shannon other than the airport?
There's a huge town now. The history of Shannon is pretty cool, actually - it was a totally planned town, reclaimed land from the ocean, huge technological parks there.

Do you decorate for Christmas?
No, but I do for Yule (Pagan Winter Solstice festival).

What was the last thing you ate?
Black pudding.

Favorite type of cake?
My friend's mother's chocolate cake.

What song, when you hear it, makes you stop everything, turn it up and dance and sing along?
There's a few of them. "The Last Unicorn" by Loreena McKennitt is one, "Hands" by Jewel is another.

Where did you go on the last vacation you took?
Prague. It was very cool.

What is the oldest thing in your refridgerator? How old is it?
Not sure. Probably some apples.

Closest tourist Attraction to you?
King John's Castle.

Best gift you ever received?
I've had a lot of great gifts. My hair clip from BF is probably my most sentimental.

Worst gift you ever received?
Probably one of the many items of clothes purchased by relatives.

favorite flower?
White roses

what is your favorite piece of jewelry?
That I own? My antique pearl necklace, BF bought it for one of our anniversaries.

What color is your bedspread?
Cream.

what color shirt do you have on right now?
White.

socks?
Bare feet.

Favorite candy?
Not a big fan.

What is your best personality trait?
My sense of the absurd.

Your worst?
I'm an egomaniac.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Morning person by nature, night owl because of living on the same clock as BF.

Do you normally cook, get take-out, or go out to eat?
cook.

What is one thing you spoil yourself with?
One thing? Er...

What would you do if you saw a unicorn?
Try, very carefully, to approach it.

Are you easily offended?
No.

What do you usually drink with dinner?
Water.

Are you ears pierced? Anything else pierced?
My ears (once), nothing else.

Favorite fruit?
grapes.

Favorite vegetable?
Potato

If you won the lottery, what would you do first?
Do a budget.

How often do you visit TCS?
Are you kidding? I rarely leave.
Do you like oatmeal?
Yes.

Do like high heels?
Yes.

Do you grab your clothes and put them on or do your prefer them ironed?
I prefer them ironed, but I live with cats. Once has to compromise, occasionally.

Have you ever been deep sea diving? Would you want to?
No, and probably no. I probably can't either, because of damage to my ears.

Do you fish?
No.

Can you sew?
Yes.

knit?
No, but I'm thinking of learning.

crochet?
No.

cross stitch?
No.

Do you think I should get a Persian cat?
Only if you really want to and want to support the breed, and if it's from a reputable breeder whose cats can actually breathe.

Are you double jointed?
No.

Do you ever pop your knuckles?
No.

Can you whistle?
I don't think so.

While you walk?
See above!

Do you take vitamins?
Periodically.

Have you ever been drunk?
Sadly, yes, but very rarely. I'm usually very responsible.

Do you eat ice?
No.

Do you think golf is boring?
Incredibly.

Does a cruise on a ship sound fun to you?
Yes, immensely.

Do you like hot or cold weather?
I think that there is not such thing as bad weather (obviously, not talking about natural disasters here), just inappropriate clothing.

Do you like to play in the snow?
When I used to get snow. It's a ball.

Are you vain?
Yes.

Do you ever braid your hair?
Yes - with a decent level of intricacy, too.

Do you liks Oreo cookies?
I love Oreos. They're hard to get here, but not impossible.

Chocolate or strawberry?
Depends.

Apples or oranges?
Apples, generally, but I like both.

Did you sleep well last night?
No, very poorly.

Did you sleep in socks?
Often, yes. Ironic, isn't it? I'm usually barefoot the rest of the time!

Do you believe in holistic medicine?
I believe it has a place, yes. Modern medicine comes from similar roots.

I am not through

Thank you, it's a lot of fun.

(I found it really hard to start thinking of questions, too, but I have worked out a few now. I started just by asking questions based on the "spotlight's" answers... your mileage or kilometerage or etc may vary).
I am enjoying your answers too. If you liked the french fries with vinegar, you have got to try them with mustard.
I will have to try that!

Do you like bagels?
Yes, I love them.

Blueberry jam?
I do, probably my fav jam.

Have you ever been water skiing?
Nope.

Snow Skiing?
Yes - that was quite a lot of fun.

Skinny dipping?
Only in a bath tub. Maybe someday!

Do you like bread?

Occasionally.

Do you ever make homemade preserves?

Do you ever like to go to live auctions?
I've never been to one.

Do you put Holly everywhere for Yule?
Mistletoe?
Neither. Usually the apple tree and candles.

Have you ever heard of the Yule Cat?
No, but I'll google it as soon as I'm done here.

Do you kiss under the mistletoe?
I've never had the oppurtunity.

Is the Yule log a tradition to eat during Yule?
Yes - but I've never made one... that's a neat idea for this year actually. (That's my goal for this year, to solidfy our traditions, they've been pretty nebolous in the past).

Do you cook a turkey or ham for Yule?
Depends on what we've in the mood for.

Will you personally be cooking for Yule?
Yes. Always do.

Whats the appropriate way to say "Happy Yule Day"?
We just say "Happy Yule!"

Do you like candlelight?
I do.

Do you like Potpourri?
Depends on the scent.

Do your cats like catnip?
We only tried with Molly and Bobby - they didn't respond at all. I imagine that at least some of the other three would though.

Have they ever tried honeysuckle?
No, it's on the list of things to order our babies online.

If you marry would you want a small intimate or large lavish wedding?
Honestly? We'll probably elope.

Do you like to do crafts?

Do you believe in telepathy?
I'm not sure.

Do you like liver?
Only when it's engaged in it's original life-supporting functions.

Do you like gravy on your potatoes?

This is really helping me get into the spirit of things! I'm a very traditional person (if's it's done twice, it's "tradition"), so it's been hard for me to celebrate with no previously delinated tradition.

I'm definately going to stay away from Holly - it turns out that it is - gasp - FLYPAPER FOR FARIES! I'm thinking of putting up fairy decorations instead to show that ours is a fairy-friendly home.

Mistletoe is similarly used as a protective from fairy mischief, but is also a symbol of maternal love (one theory on the origin of the kiss) and also a symbol of peace.

The Yule Cat is a pretty neat tradition (the lazy are the legitimate prey of this gargantuan cat). I'm thinking of warping it into more of a St. Lucy tradition in our house and naming one of our cats the "Yule Cat" for this year's celebrations (changing yearly).

And I'm definately making a Yule log cake this year!

Now, I just have to find some not quite Christmas carols.

My husband's Irish coworker is from Cork (That's where the wedding was that we went to) and he feels the same way about Kerry!
Of course he does! Otherwise, what would be the point?

Which Irish tourist attractions would you recommend? They don't have to be the ones close to you.

Close to me:
Bunratty castle and village (Shannon), The Hunt Musuem (Limerick City), visits to Adare and Killaloe (two very beautiful towns near Limerick). And UL (University of Limerick) of course. It's not a tourist attraction, but it should be!

Further away:
A trip to Galway city (small, but a real jewel); for the history and architure buffs, a tour of Dublins government buildings - some of them are truly extraodinary buildings (the bottom floor of the White House in Washington DC was inspired by Leinster House, now the seat of the Oireachtas (Irish parliment)). The national museums are amazing - and free!

Tralee - a beautiful old town and great shopping city. Killarney - especially Muckross House.

Have you enjoyed your week in the spotlight?
I've loved it!

Have you selected the next "victim" ?
I think so... but I perfer the term "successor".
