Hi there,
I recently posted the topic "help, aggressive cat" but now I have a new question.
We recently adopted an orange tabby, and I've noticed lately his fur is getting more of a blond and less Orange. How normal is this, or is it my lighting? I don't know if it's due to his diet or not, I...
Update: Betsy is doing a TON better. I went ahead and put my shirt on the couch and left it there, kept doing the slow blink thing, and basically relaxed and stopped trying so hard. When I walk by I DO carry a spray bottle because she seems to know what it is (lol) but haven't had to use it...
Ill go ahead and try that. She's still growling and hissing at me though. Really trying not to be discouraged. I'm really not stressing except for when she is in the same room because last time she hid behind our bed and when I went to grab something she attacked. I guess I see some improvements...
You're absolutely right mollyblue. She IS doing better, just very guarded. She hashowever, approached me a couple of times to smell me but that's really it. We have made an appointment to get her spayed next week.finally. it's been a long time coming
This would be Betsy. I'd show you a better pic but this is basically how she has been looking at me
This would be Newbie. He was the one we just adopted. He was abused when he was a kitten, and except for when dog first showed up, has been VERY loving and sweet. Hes a year younger than Betsy...
Lol are you sure? Because now she is in my kitchen blocking my cabinet and doing the slow blink thing, and I slowly went to open it to get honey for my tea and she warned me with a hiss.... Of course I've kept my cool and not been frustrated but now that I'm in another room.... Ughhhhhh this is...
Sorry to keep bothering yall but I have a bit of an update followed by a request for input. As I said previously I am watching my dog until tomorrow- a two night stay. With that, both Betsy and Newbie have been... Well, skittish. Betsy, while she still has calmed down, has resorted back to...
Omg... She's being calm again! She saw me just now and started to hide, but I went to feed her and talked to her like she was a small human "what do you want for dinner? Chicken? Turkey.... Salmon....chicken.... I guess chicken" she came out and looked at me like "what are you doing?" I mixed...
This is great advice. We are already on all of it but a third litter box is great. And our newbie cat... Well just call him newbie... Hes SUPER docile. He knows her warnings and walks off, knows where his litter box and food is, and won't go anywhere near hers. I feel like she will respect him...
Oh man I'm sorry your case was far worse... But in a way it makes me feel better. Much of the advice you've given, I'm currently doing. I refuse to play w her right now because as I said, she's a walking chainsaw. But... The breaking her stare/blinking thing is working. This will be slow but...
So here is a small update.
Betsy is still hiding in her cabinet, although not AS much. Last night I cleaned my house really good, lit a candle and an incense (she seems to like the lotus scent by a brand called Maroma) and left some light classical music on. I was waiting on my couch for my...
Thank you Molly. All of that was what I figured. My boyfriend did say she could be depressed from losing her best friend on top of this. And you're right, lots of changes going on. I just needed to hear from someone else. I've been feeling so guilty like I must be doing something wrong for the...
I can understand you thinking that, but it's definitely not that. I've been avoiding her because of her sudden onset of aggression, and my boyfriend treats her like royalty. If there is any abuse its from someone outside of the home, and we've not had visitors.
Hi there,
Here's the story. My boyfriend and I just moved in together about a month ago. Before that we have been dating for a year. Anyway the move included two kitties, one (we will call her Betsy) who is already crazy-ish but generally well behaved, and the other, we will call her misty, who...
