    What colour is my cat?

Yeah of course there are variations but that's just plainly put - I have seen Torties with a few white flecks or a bit on their chin. That's just genetics for you, I've seen male calico's and Torties too - though obviously sterile and extremely rare :)

    What colour is my cat?

Irritates me when people mix up tortoiseshell and calico - two completely different colours lol. Torties have zero white on them. Obviously there are variants of both colours like the tabby-calico colour or a faded calico, even a black tortie.

    Found tiny kittens

This is great to see! Rearing kittens are soooo hard, I myself have lost a few over the years so you're one of the lucky ones, well done :) They're adorable

    Getting 3 little orphans tomorrow

We do this regularly at the shelter I foster for - often we are called up and odd hours of the night to pick up abandoned kittens, we have never had any trouble so far with foster mums taking on other kittens/litters as long as they're of roughly the same size/age and to make sure we monitor the...

    Ringworm on nursing cat?!?

Alrighty! The trip to the vet went smoothly, she was completely relaxed and friendly throughout the whole ordeal - The vet ruled out ringworm thank god, though believes it's a nasty infection started by a skin irritation from the kittens suckling. She's been put on a round of antibiotics as she...

    Ringworm on nursing cat?!?

Hey all - I couldn't thank you enough for the quick replies. I agree, after hearing from you all and also noticing it's grown in size it definitly looks like some kind of infection. We're off to the vets in 15 minutes, kittens and mother (it's only 1:45pm here) and for the fee I may as well...

    Ringworm on nursing cat?!?

So a day into into my cat being a new mum I noticed a rash, I thought perhaps the kitten were scratching her tummy, now it's day three/four and it's oozy, wet, sore, hot and obviously causing her a lot of distress. I thought perhaps it was a hot spot but a woman who runs an even bigger shelter...

Baby Kitten-- Not sure what's wrong

Definitely be careful when switching diets, always introduce very slowly, especially when switching from formula to solids - I'm surprised the vet even suggested going cold turkey. In regards to the kitty litter, be careful with clumping kitty litter or crystals - they can be fatal to small...

    Feral mom and babies

Can you block off under your bed? I think she's trying to tell you it's not what she wants anymore. My girl who has some three day olds keeps putting them in the most silly places. I also suggest getting a larger box and perhaps even shutting the door while you're out if you can.

    Queen not caring for kittens

My girl had a litter a few days ago and I was worried about the same sort of things - I was toileting them for the first day and then letting her sniff the tissue I used, while they were feeding or sleeping as to not irritate mum, I also pushed their bums in her face so she would put two and two...

    No signs of labour/overdue?

Update: She gave birth the night I posted - right on my bed! 5 healthy kittens, all placentas delivered. She was too tired to deliver the last so I had to assist her. Am also toileting them at the moment as she's a bit lazy - other than that she and the kittens are doing fine.

    Cat vomiting and coughing regularly

I would just take him back to the vet for further checks.

Turkish van/Aegean mix just had kittens

Albinism is only a lack or absence of pigment in the skin - there shouldn't be anything physically wrong with them other than the normal characteristics of albinism.

    a stray pregnant cat..

I think you should just leave her alone for awhile, does she has a nice safe nest where it's warm and quiet? If they are suckling that's a good sign, just keep an eye on her from a distance and make sure everything is okay. Please don't hold her down again, that will stress her out.

    a stray pregnant cat..

Sorry, I don't think there is any way we can help you anymore. I suspect that the kittens will die without formula or vet care - I think perhaps it's best that's next time you find a pregnant cat to take it into a shelter or find someone who is prepared and knows what to do.
