Best diets for cats with IBD/Small Cell Lymphoma?

@jmwentzel Were you able to find a food that works and did your doctor confirm a diagnosis? Buddy would take metronidazole when his IBD/lymphoma would flare up, it was only for a few days each time, but to manage it when it wasn't flared up I used Prednisolone.

    Starting Prozac Day 1

@ellenature I'd love to hear an update on how your kitty is doing. I just started Prozac (pill form) with one of my cats yesterday after months of trying to introduce her to another cat using literally every possible method.

what do i do with a greiving cat?

I'm so sorry about your loss. I can relate to what you and your remaining kitty are going through. I lost my loving 14 year old Buddy in July. He was the first pet that was ever truly mine and the first pet I've ever had to put down. It was truly the hardest thing I've ever done. Mila is his 9...

What type of cat introduction worked for you?

So I've been trying a new tactic. I can now allow Mila and Zoey access to the first floor of the house I'm in. The very old territorial cat who stays on that floor is content sleeping in a closed off room for awhile; They are all okay with each other's scent.  I decided to try and introduce...

What type of cat introduction worked for you?

@Elfilou  Yeah I switch them often, but each other's scent is the issue. Mila doesn't react to Zoey's scent at all and vise versa. Zoey was in a different room last night when Mila wandered into her room to smell some things. She didn't seem phased.

What type of cat introduction worked for you?

@1CatOverTheLine  Yes I've been able to do that, but once the treats are gone, or sometimes in the middle of eating Mila glances up, eye contact is made and Mila slinks away.

What type of cat introduction worked for you?

@Elfilou I've tried that for weeks. Zoey is easy, she'll play with anything and not care about Mila until she starts to get bored, then she will try and play. I have another person playing with Zoey while I work with Mila in the same room, but it is nearly impossible to get her to engage in...

What type of cat introduction worked for you?

I made a post a day or two ago that hasn't gotten any responses, probably because it's too long, so I'm just going to go for the basics. I have an 8 year old resident cat Mila and a 2 year old new cat Zoey. Mila is declawed, Zoey isn't. I've been taking the introductions super slow and they...

    Litter Genie

I have two and don't know what I'd do without them! any smell is sealed in and the bags last a long time. The refills are expensive, but you just have to know where to look and keep your eye out for sales. I'd never go back to using anything else.

Cat introduction advice needed; it's been months!

Here’s the rundown. I have two cats; Mila is the resident cat (8 yrs old had since she was a month old) and Zoey is the newb (approx. 2 yrs had her since Oct ’16).:kitty2: Mila’s adopted brother Buddy passed away over the summer a week after he was diagnosed with a ridiculously aggressive lung...

My Cat Has Been Breathing Differently, And I'm Worried

@HunnyAndMoo  I am so, SO sorry to hear that. I'm sitting in my cubicle at work and teared up as soon as I read that. I know the feeling of that devastating blow you just took so I'll tell you what other members of this community told me when I had made a post on here about Buddy's health prior...

My feline soul mate, my Buddy.

@Boney Girl Dad  I felt it the entire time, but I could never put the feeling into words until he passed. I'm so sorry about your Boney Girl.

My feline soul mate, my Buddy.

@foxxycat  I'm so very sorry about your Floey. I'm not sure if we'll ever feel normal again either. I think with time the sting of the sorrow will lessen. There will come a time where I can see a picture of him and feel happiness that he was in my life, but for now if I see a picture all I see...

My Cat Has Been Breathing Differently, And I'm Worried

Ok I'm going to share my entire situation because it seems quite similar to mine and like @StephenQ  I didn't want to over dramatize it, but I I want to ensure your vet is taking all the right steps. In the situation with my cat  Buddy, his appetite decreased in the beginning of July, it started...

My Cat Has Been Breathing Differently, And I'm Worried

I'm no veterinarian and can only speak from my own personal experiences,  but I find it  strange that your vet attempted to drain his lungs without first taking an x-ray to verify fluid in the lungs. Considering there is a certain amount of risk that goes along with draining lung fluid as they...

My Cat Has Been Breathing Differently, And I'm Worried

Did they take an Xray of his lungs? My cat started to lose his appetite, started breathing rapidly and his behavior changed; he was hiding and wasn't being social anymore. There was fluid in his lungs and they had to drain it out so that he could breathe easier.

There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of him, he's always on my mind.
