Update: After inspecting Ella further, I noticed 1 single FAT FLEA on her belly. I picked that sucker, and crushed it to death! Haha, that was the only one I saw, so hopefully that's all it was!

Have you thought about ringworm? It sounds exactly like what the kitten we rescued had, after another vet visit she did indeed have ringworm, and it can easily be spread to other animals, and humans.
