    Charlie ran away

I think what was meant is that he isn't an only indoor cat. If, even in the past, he had been outside even a few times to see his "girlfriend", then I wouldn't be as terrified as if a purely indoor cat that never ever went outside, well...got out. That would be 10x more worry if it were even 10...

    Charlie ran away

Mysterycat, I'm so glad you found Charlie, I knew it would be ok Re: the cat carrier. If you don't want to buy one, you can always ask your vet if they have one you can borrow to bring Charlie to the vets with. It's not an ideal method, but it's still an option.

    Charlie ran away

I'm so sorry to hear this. You must be so worried!! I know it's been 16 hours and that seems like an eternity, but to give some hope to the situation based on your points. Here are the good points I can think of. 1) Charlie is not a pure indoor cat, he has some "street sense" and has learned to...

    Cats who fight death

Oh my God, I cried reading all your stories, touched my heart. I will share mine... 10 years ago, we had a ginger shorthaired cat. He was a stray, and sort of adopted us. We looked after him, fed him, and he became part of the family, but still stayed out for long times. He went through hell...

    Cats who fight death

This thread made me sad, and reminded me how scared I am of losing my 11 year old female cat, that's been with me through the toughest times of my life. Oh what I would do without her.....I don't know what to do, when that day comes, that she....ugh

    Help serious fighting issues......

They are 2 now, as a mother she's been tolerating them and she's been getting more and more annoyed as time went on, and just started an intense fight, and the boy did too. Unfortunately mothers have killed their cubs/kittens that refused to leave, at least in the wild. I remember reading up...

    Help serious fighting issues......

I don't have advice on what to do, but the cause seems simple enough, this is expected given that they are her 2 kittens. At a certain age they are supposed to leave and defend for themselves in nature. I don't think it's very often that multiple kittens from the same mother are ever going to...

    Indoor or outdoor or neither?

Neither is really strange to me. English isn't my first language, but it still sounds weird. I mean, a cat is either in door or outdoors, right? So it isn't neither, but either, there for the options should be.. Indoor (A cat that spends it's entire life indoors) Outdoor (A cat that lives...

update on my cats behavior after 6 years...

Hi, thanks for your reply and advice. The house isn't too big, but I live on my own, and there's at least enough room for all the cats. 2 bedrooms, 1 sitting room, 1 kitchen, 1 bathroom all seperated. The cats live fine together with me (oh god I think I am labeled as a crazy cat person because...

    I think my cat talks

Apologies for not reading this whole thread, only the first few posts, but just wanted to say that we tend to make sounds that aren't really there, in fact we physically do. I'm a sound engineer, and I the brain fills in on sounds at certain frequencies that aren't truly there anyway, but as...

    Indoor or outdoor or neither?

If they only have 2 options on the insurance. Indoor or Outdoor You'll need to select Outdoor, as they are technically outdoor cats exposed to outdoor dangers which is what your insurance will care about.

update on my cats behavior after 6 years...

Thanks, yes I did try some of the advice given. Most of it, even the honeysuckle. He just seems to have an attitude problem and acts like a "tough guy". It's very noticable around our kitten, when he seems to get pleasure out of slamming her into the ground like he's playing basketball...

    Indoor or outdoor or neither?

I personally would class them as outdoor ONLY because of the various dangers they still face even being outdoors for limited times. Though on a fair level I'd say they're neither, as they spend time in and out. I guess it's a matter of choice which you want to call them. But outdoor cats are...

update on my cats behavior after 6 years...

Original post was here. http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36667 To sum it up my male cat Stimpy beat on my female cat Alanta often. I don't have good news, but they're both getting older now. This is weird I would update after all these years but I'm concerned. Stimpy is still...

Are my cats fighting or playing?

Thank you both. I have been thinking back now and I think I know what the problem may be. I think there may be some sort of jealousy going on between the male cat. He's always been a bit on the rough side with me and now that I can't move around and play with him so much (Like chasing and other...

Are my cats fighting or playing?

I have a 4 and a half year old female cat and a 3 years old male cat. They have grown up together and the male one was introduced at 6 weeks to my female one who continued to nurse him for another week (She had kittens just before he arrived that were ready to leave home. Never again will I...
