Squeaky vs. the Cat Carrier - Again!

Once again, our little orange kitty Squeaky has out-foxed us when it comes to taking him to the vet!    He needs his rabies and feline distemper shots, but getting him to the carrier is next to impossible!  The very thought of going in sends him to the nearest hidey-hole, where he is JUST out of...

I need a kitty sitter for a few hours

My apartment is about to be treated for bugs and we need to get our cats out of there for several hours.  The hitch is that one of our cats, Squeaky, does not like any change in his routine.  He is a "deli-cat" and needs special attention...What kind of kitty sitter should we get?  And how do we...

    Bella scratching in inappropriate places

Our female cat, Bella, has been scratching in places where she shouldn't.  We have discussed the possibility of de-clawing her, which is not a happy thought at least.  I would like some alternatives to de-clawing for her - we love her too much!

    Missing: Bella

I am crushed over the sudden disappearance of our one year old kitten, Bella.  On Labor Day, we discovered that our living room window had been accidentally cracked ajar, and we discovered Bella was missing.  We looked all over the apartment building, but she was gone.  We have posted on-line...

    Squeaky vs. the Cat Carrier

We need to take our beautiful Squeaky to the vet for his annual checkup.  However, he has managed  to outfox us five times in a row when we try to put him in the carrier.  We've tried to sneak up on him while he was snoozing, we've tried to bring the carrier to him and we've tried treats, but...

Squeaky shakes his jaw when he opens his mouth

I am a little concerned about Squeaky - he shakes his jaw when he opens his mouth.  He eats, drinks, plays, sleeps and plays vigorously with his new playmate Bella, but this has come up lately. Is this something to worry about?  If anyone has any answers, let me know - thanks!

    Bella the kitten!

Today, a new little friend came to us.  She is a ten-month-old (or so) dark gray-and-white kitty with white paws and chest, and is very sweet.  Her name is "Bella" and she is indeed beautiful.  Her old owners abandoned her and we took her in, much to the chagrin of our older cat, "Squeaky".  ...

    Squeaky the allergic kitty

We seem to have an allergic kitty.  Every fall, "Squeaky" gets all itchy around his back, and sometimes will lick them sore.  He doesn't get these "itchies" at any other time.  What would you recommend for him?

Squeaky is cowering in a corner

Once again, we have an issue with our beautiful Squeaky.  This time, he is cowering in a corner and hissing at us whenever we come near him.  We can't seem to figure it out - he is usually the gentlest kitty.  What can we do?

    Squeaky the scaredy-cat

Our beautiful orange/white cat "Squeaky" is hiding again and we don't know why.  He was behaving beautifully for a long time - then, suddenly, he's back to hiding under a bed.  He has come out during the night, however, to use his sandbox, to look out the window and to sleep on a blanket.  I...

Squeaky won't use his litter box

Our beautiful but excitable little cat Squeaky hasn't been using his litter box of late, although normally he is very good about it.  He spooks easily, and I think he poops in the wrong place when he is scared.  This week, he has pooped twice in the same spot.  Is there anything we can do to...

I need non-clumping kitty litter for Squeaky

I took my Squeaky to the vet for his annual exam and shots today; we discovered that he's allergic to the clumping kitty litter we use.  What kind of non-clumping litter is best for him?  If you have suggestions, please let us know.  Thanks...

We may have discovered Squeaky's secret

As some of you know, we have a beautiful 3-year-old orange/white domestic medium-hair named Squeaky who had been hiding under a sofa for a long time.  Now, thankfully, he is out of his shell for good!  We may have discovered his secret.  He seems to be a kitty who wants to be the only pet in the...

Update on Squeaky - good news

As of today, Squeaky is slowly coming out of his shell.  He is running out of his hidey hole to eat (and he does so with gusto!), he gets drinks of water from the dish in the kitchen, and he stays out for several minutes to get petted and receive lots of love.  As I said in my original post, he...

How do I get Squeaky to come out of his shell?

We have a three-year-old orange/white semi-longhaired kitty named "Squeaky" who is very timid.  He seems to come out only at night and hides under a sofa most of the day.  When we first got him, he was timid at first, but then was starting to come out of his shell.  However, he has become timid...

    Baby - my purring pal

Yesterday, 2/22/12, we had to put our beloved 14-year-old gray/white tiger Baby to sleep.  I am absolutely heartbroken...He was such a sweet, loving and friendly little "baby bobcat" (for his tufted ears).  He purred loudly and often, adored milk and butter and was a joy to have around.  Now...
