Hey all,
So my little girl cat Violet has been doing odd things since New Year's. She will hide under the bed, and whenever my husband checks on her, she will hiss at him! He had a cold during this time that he is pretty much over, so that may have changed his smell. Also, we had a lavender air...
Hello,
My sweet girl Violet has been missing since Monday night. She snuck behind my husband and I when we came in around 9; we were watching the Presidential debate, and thought she was sleeping in the bedroom. It wasn't until 11:20 that we realized she was gone. We immediately canvassed the...
You may want to look into flower essences to curb his overly aggressive and clingy behavior...start off with "Rescue Remedy," and then try something like "Red Rock" if that doesn't help. You tailor the treatment to the cat's response, but it has to take a week or two to take effect.
Thanks for the advice, guys! I've not used Nok Out, but have Stink Free. It leaves a rather pleasant smell behind, in my opinion. I do like the idea of asking a professional cleaner to come in and use Nok Out, and I may investigate this after the holidays when I am more flush. Personally, I feel...
My landlords are trying to sell my apartment building, and while my husband and I (nor any of my visitors) can smell cat urine in the least, this realtor can! If they are going to be showing the apartment, I need to fix this and fast! Any advice? I changed the litter, washed the pan, used a...
I would invest in some Feliway plugs as well, and place them throughout the apartment. This might calm her--she seems to be super-rambunctious, and want to play all of the time! I'm sorry about your eye...that sounds awful. All I can suggest is the Feliway plugs, as well as Whisker City's At...
Well, since she's not more than two, the vet did not feel the need to do a senior panel...though hat is something I will look into if her behavior continues to be erratic, thank you :). I do believe her problems are purely behavioral, and is clingy and prone to inappropriate urinating when she...
Thanks! We have some homeopathic remedies similar to Feliway, and will be getting the real thing as well. I think her behavior is triggered by anxiety, and praise, attention, and firmness seem to help.
Welcome! I'm fairly new too, but have had cats for eons. It seems like your baby is craving attention, and unlike dogs, you cannot totally train cats to do anything. Have you thought about getting her scratching posts, and toys for her own? Sometimes, cats need companions and entertainment. If...
Update: Violet is perfectly healthy, she just gets stressed out easily, according to my vet :). Have changed the litter back to Arm and Hammer, and make sure to give them plenty of attention.
Hey all,
I just registered, but have enjoyed reading posts prior to taking the plunge and signing up! You guys have been great resources for me, as I have been around cats all my life, but never dealt with rescue babies on my own before.
Here's the story...
I adopted two teenage rescue cats...
