So, I have raised my share of kittens in my lifetime and never one as wild and crazy as my new kitten! I've had him since around October of last year. We have 2 other cats, one is turning 11 next month and the other is approximately 8-9. The 11 year old is a male siamese and the 8-9 year old...
That's wonderful news! Yay!
I also found that going with a fresh food diet has helped my kitten's unexplained diarrhea. I put him on the fresh pet chicken and they also have a beef and chicken mix. I use it as a supplement to a normal wet food diet and it has helped tremendously. He does...
Cool thanks, that's what I thought but just wanted some other opinions. I don't believe they are intentionally attacking him... they only get physical when he decides to jump on their backs or try to play with their feet or tails. He's just la la la la la this is fun and the others are just...
Ohhhh..... the walls.... you know I had a siamese that did not know how to cover his stuff at all and would just claw the sides of the box, the wall, outside the box... he didn't do it excessively like your kitty and it sounds like yours actually does cover her mess first. But if I pulled it...
They say you should have 1 box for every cat you have. I have three cats as well but I only have 2 boxes one upstairs and one downstairs. But they are really giant sized boxes with very high sides. My little kitten does a similar thing... he will go to all four corners of the box and dig...
I have a little male kitten who is approximately 3-4 months old. He is very sweet and playful but he really wants to play with my older cats and they are quite not in the mood. :) The cats do get along... if he isn't annoying them... they will sleep together and even eat out of the same food...
So, wanted to give an update on my old boy.... he is doing much better!!! Yea, cerenia, metro and Pred did seem to do the trick. Much better than that "lets wait it out" and then hospitalize method my other vet was trying to make me do. But he seems almost 100% better now. He has even gained...
Sort of side bar question, but how long does canned pumpkin last in the fridge? I have been getting it for my boys but of course you don't give them mass quantities of it at a time .. so I put it in the fridge to store it. But I was wondering how long does it last in there?
That sounds exactly like what Fievel was doing... what my vet and I tried to guestimate was that he was getting nauseous from the strain of going to the bathroom. Especially when he was having diarrhea because I think he was trying to go so badly but stuff wasn't really coming out. He wasn't...
I also had the same problem with my siamese. He had a hematoma in his left ear and ever after that, always had problems with his ears. He always had ear infections and TONS of that black "goop" in his ear. And it would only ever affect his one ear and not the other. Nothing ever really cured...
Hello!
So, I have a 3-4 month old kitten (male), an 8 year old female and a 10 year old Siamese male. My question is about my 8 year old female. At least I think she's 8... I got her from a shelter earlier this year and I believe she was a stray because they didn't really have any information...
Thanks! Yea he is doing really good. I think he has even put a little weight back on. I think the steroids or something are making him super hungry though. He begs for food like every couple of hours. And it's annoying cause he is a nibbler and eats a few bites walks away goes back and then...
Glad to hear your guy is doing well too! My vet also told me to do 1/4 a pill of cerenia for 5 days and off 2. If you have the means, I would consult as many vets as you feel you need to. :)
Hope you get good news and he continues to do well.
Yay! We had a great visit at the vet! Finally found a vet we like... we went to the "just cats" vet and she was really great. Stayed in with her for well over an hour and she answered all our questions and really took the time to explain a lot of stuff.
She also addressed the issue of him...
He never eats dry food - once in a blue moon. And he only vomitted when he was hungry and his tummy was basically empty. Vomit was always stomach acids mostly.
I dunno, I would have thought a coincidence if it only lasted a few months but for a cat that vomitted daily for 9 years to suddenly stop and be vomit free for over a year... and only because of 1 thing happening... I don't think it could be coincidental.
But, I'm just glad he's doing much...
Thanks Denice, I do know people that have cats that just barf... and I thought that's what Fievel was as well. But now with this happening I'm starting to agree with you that maybe all those years of vomitting were actually from an underlying condition... but it doesn't make any sense to me...
