would like to put up some wall shelves for cats to climb on, they can't reach windows that are up high. unfortunately, I have zero mechanical ability. does anyone know of a solution, something that comes pretty much already built that I can just mount by drilling a couple holes?

found mine asleep on top of the cable box the other day. guess she was cold.

smell is big with cats. maybe she wears a lot of perfume and/or makeup that the cat doesn't like?

I've done that... put a treat at the far end of the pillow case, works great in a pinch.

my cat used to inhale any treat I gave her. I'd even leave some hidden around the house and within a few hours, she'd found them all. last week or so, she doesn't eat any treats, hard or soft. took her to the vet, he didn't see anything wrong. any ideas?

all good advice here. the key is to be quick and confident. the towel or blanket works great. pick em up and drop em in, one quick motion, before they know what hit em. the longer you agonize over it, or chase them around, the harder it'll be.

sounds to me like your 1st cat needs reassurance that all your love isn't going to the newcomer. in fact, some things I've read say that your resident cat needs more attention than ever after a new cat enters the house.

for the first time ever, my cat tonite laid totally stretched out, on her side, on the floor. and her breathing seemed quicker than usual when I went down to check her. she had just done a little sprinting around the house, chasing nothing. have you seen this? should I be concerned?
