My 3 yr old male has had the rolling skin phenomenon forever. It occurs alongside hind legs twitching and tail thumping -- so it seems like an "I'm stressed out" tic.
Like all of you guys, I thought it was just him!
On the extreme end of the introduction continuum...some animals just can't get along. My older cat (Bonnie) lunges at my younger cat (Lucky) if they are both on level ground together. I've had to keep them separated for over 2 years. When I asked the vet for advice she said "Sometimes the...
Like the other posters, my cats don't seem to care where the box is as long as its easily accessible. I just pick it up, move it, and place them in it to show them where it is. Good luck with your integration!
I feel your pain. My cat's "output" seemed normal until, at 2 years old, our vet put her on a prescription diet due to allergies. Ever since then, phhhhewwwww! The smell "could gag a maggot!"
Some foods just have that effect. My non-allergic cat loves the prescription food as a special...
Quote[ I wish I could remember the name of the forum - but all I remember is the posts and the horrible yellow and brownish forum colors.)
Could it have been the Post Punk Kitchen? I think it used to be very brownish (?), but looking at the site right now, they seemed to have changed their...
One of my cats used to be a stray, and as a result can be very jittery. Feliway is a necessity for him. I tried to discontinue it after 2 years, thinking that he didn't need it anymore. Within hours he would jump and puff up at the smallest sound. He really, really, reeeally depends on its...
Hi everyone,
I registered here a while ago, but but haven't been able to post in a long time. Looking forward to participating more often now and getting to know you all. This is a wonderful site, full of information and the enthusiastic fellowship of cat lovers!
I have two mewbabies, as...
Thanks so much guys!!! I am so glad to hear that this is a normal posture. She seems fine, and it's not a new pose for her. I've just never seen a cat do this before.
She's my pretty little Bonnie Blue and I just want what's best for her.
So some cats do perch like this? Glad to hear! She gets regular checkups twice a year (or more if her gums act up) and everything has been coming back fine. She seems her regular self.
Aw, thanks! She is such a sweetheart! Yes, she is a British Blue.
It's very calm, you can pet her, she's pretty serene. In this particular instance, there wasn't anything going on behind the door that she isn't used to. Sometimes she'll sit on the floor or the couch like that too without any other context.
Oh yes, certainly. But by the same token, she'll...
A while ago I posted a thread in Health and Nutrition about an odd posture that my cat sits in. I was able to snap a picture of it from front and side angles.
a) Isn't my kitty cute? Of course she is, she is a little princess.
b) Has anyone seen this posture before? She'll sit like...
Ah, I found the "Fur Pictures and Videos Only" section of the Cat Lounge.
I'll be posting it there, if you all don't mind taking a peek.
Thanks again for all your wonderful help!
Cocoalilly,
I am so sorry to hear of your situation, and absolutely applaud your kindness. I also have some relatives who felt the same way about cats as your uncle. It's frustrating when an animal person just can't get their point across to someone who doesn't regard animals as highly.
Do...
