My cat recently went for her check-up at a new vet and the vet said she needs a teeth cleaning. My old vet had also said this and from a visual check I can see she does have build up and red gums in the molar area.
My current vet charges $550-700 depending on extractions and whether her...
My cat has had an on and off problem of peeing out of the box since 6 mo old when she got a UTI. Now I know now she doesn't have one because I monitor her input and output and behavior and my vet has helped me (after 6 neg results) to see the signs and realize she is just picky. We have her in...
backstory:
I just moved in with my BF and he has a dog so we keep the cat in a back bedroom, but let her out while we're at work (dog is in the dog run) from 9am-6pm and then she is out at night and the dog is crated in our bedroom 12am-6am. She also hangs out with me while I study in the...
My BF and I are planning on moving in together in January and we are having a lot of problems introducing his dog (1 1/2 years old and 45lbs) to my cat (4 years old). My cat does not like dogs in general and his dog looks at any animal smaller than her as a chase toy or prey.
We showed her the...
My cat gets sick on windy roads. She foams at the mouth and will poop in her carrier.
I've managed to avoid windy roads...but I'm going to the mountains soon and I must take a windy road...can I do anything to prevent this?
The way up won't be bad because I can clean up the box right after...
Anyone know? My cat loves these and I can't manage to brush her teeth (yet) so I'd like to continue feeding them...but I want to make sure they fit into her calorie count since she's on a diet.
I'm moving in with my BF soon and he has 2 big dogs who have never met a cat. When they see a cat outside they go nuts wanting to chase it.
Anyone have suggestions for introductions?
She is on Nutro Max indoor right now, but with all of the recalls they have had I would like to switch her. She eats mostly wet but I need dry when I'm out for more than 10 hours and for late at night. Any price point is good for me. I feed her Wellness canned grain free.
her issues:
-Had a...
I found a website that calculates how much you should be feeding your pet. It seems a bit odd to me.

I used a 10lb cat with a sedentary lifestyle for an example and got 1/2 cup of dry or 1 can (5.5oz) wet. Are those the same amount of calories...
My vet perscribed a dental rinse for hailey's gingivitis called Oxyfresh. It's $28 for a bottle. On amazon.com there are bottles of C.E.T. for around $15. Anyone know if these are similar rinses?
Also, how is C.E.T. for toothpaste, tooth brushes, and dental chews? I'm thinking of stocking up.
my cat refuses to stop peeing on the litter mat (I've taken her to the vet twice and gotten negative results for any health problems), but that is the only place she pees. So I need to try another solution to reduce litter tracking.
Does anyone have the cleanstep booda dome? Opinions on it...
My cat has gained about 3lbs over the past 1-2 years and seems to be still gaining.
Right now I feed her wellness canned 90% of the time and nutro max indoor 10% (approx). Is there any better food that I can give her to promote weight loss? I only feed one regular size can (5.5oz) day which...
My cat Hailey seems to not like litter mats...everytime we have one it seems like after a week or so she pees on it. This just started in 2008, before that it was just random peeing issues. Now we've been without a mat for a month or so and there's been no peeing session.
I'm moving to a new...
Well, the thread title explains this. Should I get toothpaste for cats? She's only 2 1/2...getting her teeth cleaned is no biggie...but it would get expensive if I had to do it every 2 or 3 years!
