    Live Crickets For Cat?

Hmm I've tried almost every interactive toy at my local pet store, most of them are so lots that they scare him, or he loses interest in them after 10 minutes. I've set up puzzle toys with treats and other toys inside but he mostly ignores these after the first day. Other toys require a human to...

    Live Crickets For Cat?

This may seem like an odd question but does anyone buy live crickets for their cat to play with? Without wanting to sound cruel to the crickets I've often thought when seeing them for sale as reptile food in the pet store how much my indoor cat would love chasing them. He LOVES any insects and...

    Indoor Cat Wants Out!

Thanks everyone. I would love to get him a bigger enclosure but the cheapest quote I've had is over $500, that seems excessive to me :-/ I think it's a case of trying to ignore his begging and maybe try a calming product. Is Feliway any good for this kind of thing?

    Indoor Cat Wants Out!

Thanks. Aside from longer walks I'm not sure how we could spend MORE time playing with him and giving him attention, we wouldn't get time to eat, sleep or get anything done around the house if that was the case! Like I said we try to play with him every day with a rotation of toys but after a...

    Indoor Cat Wants Out!

I have a 1.5 year old neutered male cat that lives indoors 99% of the time. I "walk" him on a harness for around 15 minutes every night and allow him access to the courtyard when we are home on weekends. He's recently discovered he can jump over our 6ft high fencing into the neighbors property...

Removable Cat Proof Fencing For Rental Property?

Thanks :) If I built one it would need to be maneuverable but also accessible through a cat door. I did think about buying a large aviary on wheels and somehow adding a connecting tunnel from the cat door to the cage but I'm not sure how I'd do it without having to learn to weld! As we are...

Removable Cat Proof Fencing For Rental Property?

This is my temporary solution: 20180208 071808 20180208 071801 It's small but mobile and not fixed to anything, thus keeping the landlord happy, and it gives him fresh air and a closer look at the birds! Unfortunately I just don't have the money to spend hundred to thousands of dollars on a...

Removable Cat Proof Fencing For Rental Property?

My 1.5 year old cat Pebble has recently started wandering into the neighbours property and I would like to find a way to contain him to our property, both for his safety and to avoid annoying the neighbours. We rent and have 6ft high wooden fencing all around our rear courtyard. I don't let...

Tips On Introducing Cat Temporarily In Care

Thanks. I think I'll let her bring the cat over and maybe suggest just letting her cat sniff around me and the room for a bit with my cat outside the room, that way they can at least get each other's scent. I'm also wondering if it would be a good idea to cover the floor of the spare room in...

    Leash Frustration

Mine did this for a while, now he loves the leash so much that he puts up the the belly touching :) What type of harness do you have? I found it helpful to clip the harness on with the clips on his back, then spin it around and clip it around his neck.

Tips On Introducing Cat Temporarily In Care

I should also mention that I know it would be ideal if the cat I'm looking after could stay at her own house but unfortunately she lives across the other side of the city from me and I cannot realistically go to her house every day.

Tips On Introducing Cat Temporarily In Care

Thanks. I'm not expecting them to get on right away either and I do intend to keep the cats separated for at least the first 2 days. I'm just not sure on the best room to keep the new cat in for the first few days... our small, carpeted spare bedroom that gets full afternoon sun and can get hot...

Tips On Introducing Cat Temporarily In Care

Hi all :) I've offered to look after a friend of a friend's cat for 3 weeks over the Christmas period, the only trouble is that I have resident cat (Pebble)... Pebble is 1 year old and quite used to being around different cats in a cattery, however a cattery is probably neutral territory, I...

Advice For Training Cat To Use Cat Door?

I'm using temptations, kangaroo treats, bits of dried kangaroo and cheddar cheese. I've also tried his favourite toy and a catnip toy.

Advice For Training Cat To Use Cat Door?

Does anyone have any advice for training a cat that has the attention span of a goldfish to use a cat door? Pebble is still young (almost 1) but I'm not having much luck. We installed the cat door a week ago and I've been leaving it taped open. He's fine going through it when it's open but I'm...
