Cat throwing up hairballs almost weekly..

Thanks! I will definitely look into getting a brush like that asap. Will also see if I can find Laxatone, but I live in Norway and it can be difficult to find a lot of brands here. Are there any good alternatives to Laxatone if I cannot get it here? Also, I am considering getting some cat...

Cat throwing up hairballs almost weekly..

He gets 3-4 meals a day on a fairly regular schedule. No free-feeding. Although sometimes he won't finish the whole meal and he'll kinda snack on it over the following hour or so..  Maybe I shouldn't leave any leftovers out?

    No, he's a very calm laid-back kitty.

Cat throwing up hairballs almost weekly..

Actually I have been giving him pumpkin for the last almost week or so. About a tablespoon a day (maybe this is too much?) he usually doesn't eat it all though. But he still threw up a hairball yesterday. Does it take some time to work maybe? I'm not sure if he is being overfed.. but can that...

Cat throwing up hairballs almost weekly..

He was at the vet several times after I got him due to an infection. But he's been fine since then. Last time he went was to get neutered. He's a Birman - longhaired but they have no undercoat. He throws up only the fur in a dark reddish brown "sauce". He's been on the same diet since before...

Cat throwing up hairballs almost weekly..

Yes he was dewormed when we got him from the breeder. He is being fed a grain fee wet food (animonda carny). Its so hard to think of him as a kitten still when hes so big now, heh.. I'm not sure how much is a "lot" of fur.. but a good amount comes off.

Cat throwing up hairballs almost weekly..

My 10 month old male kitty has been throwing up hairballs weekly/bi-weekly, maybe like 2-4 times a month, for the last couple months. I figured it was because of the winter fur, but is this normal? He is a Birman and they don't even have an undercoat. I remember reading somewhere that healthy...

Cat's poo is always just slightly loose...

Hi again! Sorry for rezzing this old thread. But I just got the psyllium husk powder now (had to order online and took a while to arrive).. About how much should I be using? Should it be a little bit in every meal or in just 1 meal a day? Can I use it daily? No idea where to start! Thanks ^^

Temporarly moving house - stressful for cats?

We don't have a car so it would be a train ride. However I've taken them both multiple times on my bike to the vet in town and they've handled this fine.. So I don't think the transport would be too much of an issue. They are 7 months and 4.5 months old. Both very friendly. The 7 month old is a...

Temporarly moving house - stressful for cats?

For the xmas holiday we usually go visit my mom's place and stay a couple days. This is my first year with cats and wondering if I can bring them with me. Will being in a new house for a day or 2 be really stressful for them? The alternative is me cutting the holiday short so I can get back in...

Thanks! You mean psyllium husk powder right? Something like this ?

Cat's poo is always just slightly loose...

He's poos are generally pretty solid, but just soft enough that there's often poo streaks in his hair that I have to wash up.. It seems no matter what type of food I give him it's always the same.. Is there anything I can give him - some sort of supplement to his regular food - to help keep his...

Castration: Is it normal for fur to get stuck on incision site? warning:pics

Yes he has a cone, as the vet said they are not supposed to lick themselves at all. I managed to remove the hair patch myself now with some warm water and cottonballs. He is still getting his fur stuck to it but it's more manageable now at least. ^^

Castration: Is it normal for fur to get stuck on incision site? warning:pics

My 6 month old boy just got castrated a couple days ago. After the first day he started getting fur stuck to the incision overnight (there was no stitches, just left open). There's now a rather large patch of fur stuck on there pretty good. Is this normal? Or should I try to loosen it free with...
