Thank you so much for sharing this! Yeah, after doing more research on the topic after my initial post, it began to feel like there really isn't a consensus on how much sodium is safe/required for cats, even though a low-sodium diet is recommended for cats with chronic kidney disease and heart...
There seem to be endless questions about figuring out what a healthy diet is for my cats.
Right now, I am wondering about the safe level of daily sodium intake. I found a wet food with healthy ingredients (97% meat, no legumes, grains, gums) but it has quite high sodium level. One large can...
That's a relief to hear that. I guess I was worried that it is even smoother than pate. It's more like a smoothie after I blend it. Maybe there isn't much difference though.
Thank you for your reply and I wish Feeby stay healthy for many years to come!
Hi,
My kitty, Dodahm, only licks her wet food and always leaves quite a bit of food if it is chunky. However, she finishes her food if I blend wet food with a little bit of water.
I am a bit concerned that if feeding her wet food in such a smooth texture would be bad for her digestive system...
Fyi, it is quite rare for her to drink water on her own. So I have to supplement with some other products. I live in Korea and healthy meat-based broth options for pets are quite limited.
Hi
It has been so hard for me to find a healthy wet food my kitty would eat. I have tried 60+ different kinds so far and the only ones she is excited to eat are fish-based and especially tuna. I know that fish-based wet food is not a great choice for cats so I am debating whether I should give...
Oh! Another thing that was very difficult to get my head around was how little water she drinks... I tried a bunch of methods -- different water (tap, purified, bottled, brita filtered), 3 different fountains, powders that are supposed to make her drink more, different sizes of water bowls...
Hmmm... It's a prescription can and I bought them from legitimate sellers, including ones directly bought from a vet's office. I am a bit puzzled as to why these cans smell like this.
Feeding a cat is hard indeed. I always had dogs since I was young and this is my first time having a cat (it has been seven very wonderful months). I absolutely adore everything about my kitty and she is perfect in almost every way, except for when it comes to food haha.
She is such a picky...
Thank you for the links! I am not entirely sure if these cans I got were after formula change as I don't live in the US and am not sure how long the importing process takes. However, I did notice not only the smell but also the texture of the food seem different. I will contact the manufacturer...
Hi,
I just recently bought a 24-pack hills z/d can, which is what my cat has been eating for the past 6 months. Suddenly she wasn't too excited about it so I smelled it and it smelled different than usual with some metallic smell.
I got worried that the can might have been spoiled so went...
Hi, I recently started making a switch to freeze-dried food from 80% canned food + 20% dried food. She was on a prescription diet for suspected ibd without apparent symptoms. Now that the swelling in her intestines is gone, I would like to put her on a healthier diet as I didn't like the...
