What pain medications work best for multiple tooth extractions?

Thank you!! I've actually been watching videos of another vet dentist to help with my anxiety 😄 This guy's videos look great, lots of good info - I'll have plenty to watch this evening lol.

What pain medications work best for multiple tooth extractions?

I actually requested that Teddy not get Zorbium after reading a bunch stories of owners whose cats had scary reactions to it. Not life threatening, but like you said, stoned out of their minds, sitting and staring into space for hours upon hours, not sleeping or eating for 3 days straight....one...

What pain medications work best for multiple tooth extractions?

Oh I'm so sorry the vet did that against your wishes, I would be so upset. I have a couple medications I don't want Teddy to have and have discussed it with her a couple times and am confident she will never give them. I'm lucky in that I have an amazing vet though.

Thank you so much ☺ Teddy has been under once before and came out ok but of course I'm going to worry every time!

What pain medications work best for multiple tooth extractions?

Thank you! Since finding out he needed a dental a couple weeks ago I've been frantically researching all the things that could possibly go wrong. I've calmed down now and hearing stories of cats who came through dentals just fine, like yours, is helping me so much 😊

What pain medications work best for multiple tooth extractions?

Teddy has had Bup before with no issues so I'm hoping for the best and that he's not in too much pain either!

What pain medications work best for multiple tooth extractions?

Oh that's great to hear she did so well with just Bup. I had watched a video in which it was mentioned stronger painkillers would need to be used if multiple extractions are done, they mentioned a fentanyl patch which makes me nervous as my cat has had Bup before and was fine on it but has never...

What pain medications work best for multiple tooth extractions?

My cat Teddy is going in for a dental and it's already been determined that he'll need at least one extraction. Once they do xrays we'll know if he needs more. I'd like to be prepared for that if it happens and to hear your experiences with multiple/full mouth extractions and pain management. I...

Sore on nose and mild drooling

Can anyone tell me what this might be? I noticed this sore on his nose today and he's acting lethargic (maybe, I'm not sure if I'm just being paranoid) and kind of moving his jaw up and down at times, like if he was eating something. I'm worried and not sure if he needs to go the vet right away...

Question About An Intact Male Cat

    >>Which, on that note, the behavior of doing anything to escape and get to a female won't be triggered until there is a female in heat in the area. The extremes males will go to to get to the female are legendary. Just because he hasn't heard or smelled a female to react to yet doesn't mean he...

Question About An Intact Male Cat

I haven't noticed any urine smell different from what I'm used to with my other cats. I'd probably describe his face as round and muscular. Here's a photo: Skritch by tragicohara posted Oct 28, 2017 at 12:26 PM

Question About An Intact Male Cat

Definitely a wild thought lol. I assume he was previously owned, just due to some behaviors of his. He doesn't have a chip though....I did post around several places trying to find an owner but noone claimed him. But now that I'm doing some internet searches I've found people who thought their...

Question About An Intact Male Cat

I actually hadn't thought of that, that the reason he may be so sweet right now is because there are no females in heat around. I do plan to have him neutered, I've just been putting it off as his behavior hasn't been an issue at all. I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to surgery on my pets...

Question About An Intact Male Cat

I took in an approx. 4 year old stray recently and after much patience, he is now a happy, inside only cat. He has not been neutered however. He does have a clean bill of health from the vet. Pretty much everything I've read says an intact male cat is a terror to live with due to them spraying...
