Trying to decide between a cat sitter and Board and care

Thanks for all the recommendations all! I’ll have to keep weighing the options. We’d be in another country and usually do go internationally so it’s not like we can just run home unfortunately. There is a local agency that has a main sitter and backup if that sitter can’t make it. Again though...

Trying to decide between a cat sitter and Board and care

Hi all. My parents and I live together and are planning on a family trip in April or May, which may be around 7 days. We now have 2 cats (we had a 3rd who passed away recently sadly which I've posted about) who we’ve left before and had family come and watch. One cat is strictly indoors and...

Question about scabbing under cat’s eye

Oh an update for those wondering. We went back to our usual vet though a different pet examined him. They recommended some ophthalmic ointment over the counter, and ordered some eye drops. Idoxuridine. It's all been helping reducing the scabbing! The hard part is getting the eye drops in lol.

Question about scabbing under cat’s eye

An update. It seems to be getting a bit better so I wonder if it was a flare up due to the stress from going to the vet.

Question about scabbing under cat’s eye

I called today and asked and the receptionist said she can let the doctor know and see if they want a pic or bring him in. Bringing him in would be best but it’s so stressful for him. They are a good practice but we’re thinking of trying a new vet only 5 minutes away so it’s hopefully less...

Question about scabbing under cat’s eye

Thanks, I’ve been afraid to clean it too much and irritate it but I may try a little more. ooh I have chamomile tea I think so I’ll try that if he lets me lol. It of course didn’t look that bad when we went to the vet. Only afterwards it got worse. We do have an indoor outdoor cat for the past...

Question about scabbing under cat’s eye

Our cat has been tearing for a few months and we took him last week to the vet for his usual check up. Everything looked fine, and two vets attribute the tears to possible feline herpes, but since his eyes were red and he wasn’t uncomfortable it wasn’t anything to worry about. For some reason...

We lost our 4 and half year old cat last week to a bladder rupture

Thank you all. Hearing it wasn’t my fault is something I needed to hear. I mean the vets said the same, but I was in such a fog during that week. I got a nice gravestone for him and a photo book. Has helped with healing. I really want to get one of those stuffed animals that you can design to...

We lost our 4 and half year old cat last week to a bladder rupture

Last week was probably the worse week of my life so far. We were hoping for a miracle, but sadly a miracle never happened. My family and I let go of cute baby Comet at home, around 1:30 in the afternoon on Friday, December 1st. He passed away while I was holding him in my arms. He wasn’t the...

    Breed of an orange tabby?

Yes thankfully he was his appetite still. They were brothers and he’d always follow our deceased cat around the house. Though his brother never quite liked him that much. We also have an indoor outdoor female cat who was a stray we took in. She’s eating well and drinking well. Both cats seem a...

How to introduce Deaf & half blind kitten to my cats

I don’t have any advice sadly, but your cats and kitten are all cute and I’m grateful you were able to care for them. Hope he does well and everything works out.

    Breed of an orange tabby?

Hi all. I recently found this forum while caring for my sick cat. We sadly had to put him to sleep the other day due to a bladder rupture, but I realized we never really found out what breed he was while he was alive. He’s an orange tabby he seems, but I know that’s not technically a breed...
