Litter Genie, Litter Champ or Safety 1st Simple Step Diaper Pail?

I don't think you're missing anything.  I imagine that a sealed bag would keep the smell out fine, and obviously it does.  It's just more work than I'm up for, and I think that two big ziplock bags a day would be more expensive than the refill bags for the litter disposal systems.

    Cat Tails (Positions)

Oh, lucky you!  When a cat rubs you with his head or body as he passes, he is showing his ownership of you.  Basically, he's saying that you're his!  (By the way, you are his - it's not the other way around. ;) ) Cats have scent glands on their cheeks and under their chins.  They rub their...

Legal question regarding cat adoption and ownership

She gave the cat away, ergo, it is no longer her cat.  It seems straightforward to me. Your MIL was not cat-sitting.  Cat-sitters do not pay for the care of the cats they sit for. It has been over three years.  I can't imagine that any court would award her custody of the cat, especially since...

Litter Genie, Litter Champ or Safety 1st Simple Step Diaper Pail?

I only have experience with the Litter Genie.  I recommend it to everyone I know.  It's sooooo nice to not have to take a little bag out to the dump twice a day.  There is no smell whatsoever! That said, I think the secret is that the bags are double.  I can't see anything else with it that...

    Stopped using the litterbox?

I know you've cleaned with enzymatic cleaner, but have you checked around with a black light?  You can pick one up for not much money at a pet store.  It's an easy way to make sure that all the pee is gone from the wrong places.  Just grab the spray and some paper towels, turn on the black light...

    Insane cat

My Brad was nuts when he was that age.  I'm backing the suggestion to use interactive toys that leave plenty of room between you and the baby.  I like the kind that is a stick with a string and either a mouse or feathers at the end of the string.  You can run a kitten hard with one of those...

Sick cat and need financial help

I am so sorry to hear this.  I would be so distraught in your situation. Perhaps you can talk to the vet about payment options or financing?  Also, you may check to see if there is an organization in your town that does discounted procedures.  In my town we have a place where vets volunteer to...

kittens keep peeing on my bed!!!!!

When my Brad was a baby, he peed on the bed quite a bit, but it was because getting up and down off the bed was very hard for him.  When I started putting him on the floor every so often to see if he needed to pee and then picking him back up and putting him on the bed, where he wanted to be...

Wow, I have really screwed this up!!

Thanks, you guys! I started today by just taking up the dry when they were done snacking and putting it back out a few times.  I also took it up when they got their beloved Fancy Feast gravy.  I was shocked not to hear much complaint. I will try not to rush it, though I really like that...

    Cat Tails (Positions)

Cats get overstimulated, some more easily than others.  When he starts to slowly twitch his tail, he's telling you that, while he appreciates the affection, he's had about enough.  One of my boys never tires of being petted - anytime, anywhere, another likes a good head scratch when he's in the...

    Stud Tail

Thank you, Feralvr!  Ugh, I guess he'll have to put up with a tail wash.  I am dismayed to hear that neutering may not fix it.  He is on an all wet diet, but he is also still full of testosterone. ;)

    Stud Tail

My newly adopted, formerly stray cat, Patrick, has stud tail.  He pulled out a bunch of greasy hair this morning and it looks awful.  His vet is supposed to call me back, but I wondered if any of you guys had any insight. He was just neutered Friday, and he had a little bit of feline acne on...

New here; Mom of three boys!

Hello all.  I decided to finally join after reading a lot here.  I have three boys. Bradley is a 2 1/2-year-old tabby and white domestic short-hair.  I had a neighbor that works for animal control, and one night he brought over a tiny, flea-covered dirty little kitten, and I became a crazy cat...
