I tried everything I could afford, and Andre even rallied for a little bit, but it wasn't meant to be. He did in my arms morning, cuddled up with me and my other cat.
I'm very sad to say that the rally may be over. He was drinking and eating better yesterday, and he slept with me last night. Today though he is back to not eating. He is sneezing a lot and has a very snotty nose. I can tell when holding him that he has a fever too. It may be time.
Well, Andre has stopped hiding under the bed and he will sprawl out now instead of sitting curled up. He and my other cat are also grooming each other again. He's not eating much, but my daughter and I offer food to him about every 15 minutes so he's nibbling frequently. I took him in for...
I went home to get him earlier today to take him back to the vet to be put to sleep. When I got there, he was nibbling some tuna my daughter gave him and moving around better. So I talked to my vet, and got another round of antibiotics, steroids, vitamins, and pain medicine. Give it a shot...
I know cats with FIV can live long lives. This is my third cat with FIV. My first lived until 14, my second is still going strong at 16. I wish it were as simple as a UTI. HIs blood panel showed a normal white blood cell count. Even with that, we tried multiple antibiotics with no positive...
I would love to seek a second opinion, but I'm running pretty low on funds. My kids and I have both been sick for a few weeks (my son, then me, now my daughter) so I've missed work and had dr appointments and prescriptions. Just a really bad time financially right now.
I bought some baby food, but he won't eat any voluntarily. I can basically force feed him using a syringe, and he swallows it. I'll definitely do it if it can buy us some time to figure out what is wrong. How much would he need to eat in a day to gain some weight?
My cat has been sick for months, and isn't getting any better. He's 5 to 6 years old with FIV. I rescued him a couple years ago, and he was pretty overweight. About 6 months ago, he started losing some weight, but I thought that was good since he weighed way too much. But he just kept...
I have a 16 year old diabetic cat with feline Aids. I know it's surprising, but he is usually very healthy. Bright eyes, gorgeous coat, eats well, plays, etc. Yesterday he was fine - ate as normal, played with my other cat, no worries. When I got up this morning, there was cat vomit on my...
