    EGC on paw?

Thanks for the reply!   Pillow foot sounds a lot like what he's experiencing. He tested negative for FIV when he was a baby, and then again last year when he had his second ulcer.  I'll ask the vet about this condition, though.

    EGC on paw?

Has anyone had a kitty that got an eosinophilic granuloma on his foot after a history of getting them on his lips?   My kitty has a history of rodent ulcers on his mouth (maybe 4 or 5 over his life).  About 2 weeks ago his one toe pads started to swell.  The vet put him on a non-steroid...

    Claw Injury

My kitty is currently on prednisone for a pretty severe allergic reaction.  He's been on it for about a week and needs to be on it for at least a few more days (he has a rodent ulcer that hasn't cleared up yet). He's on a pretty high dosage right now (one tablet a day) but it will be decreased...

    ZiwiPeak as snacks?

Hi everyone!  My kitty is battling with allergies, but doing really well on a venison diet.  I give him 1 can of Natural Balance Venison & Green Pea per day.  The issue is that he loves have dry food snacks about twice a day.  He doesn't eat very much; just a few bites before he's going to take...

    Possible cat allergies

Rosiedozy: It just didn't settle well with him. I transitioned him slowly and he still got very bad diarrhea and had some vomiting.  My vet said she had never heard of a cat having an adverse reaction to it before, so if your kitty's on it and doing well, there's probably nothing to worry about!

    Possible cat allergies

My little guy has allergies and we've been trying for the past year to get them under control.  Zyrtec controls his itching pretty well but he still gets sores around his mouth.  He had a bad reaction to prescription z/d food, so I've switched him to Natural Balance Venison and Green Pea.  I...

why does my kitten lick plastic

My kitty is a fan of plastic, too.  He particularly likes to chew on and lick things like bags and bubble wrap.  I got him some plastic crinkle balls to chew on as a safe alternative (like these: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51GmeoWZiTL.jpg).  They don't rip easily like plastic bags do...

    Swelling on lower lip

Poor kitty!  I know how frustrating it can be.  I've been trying to find out the cause of my kitty's swelling for about 3 months now-- still no luck  I hope once you clear out the nettles the swelling will stop!

    Swelling on lower lip

This happens to my kitty, too!  He's allergic to something, but determining what exactly can be tricky.  If the shots are too expensive, you could ask about a prescription steroid pill.  60 doses of pred will run you about $20 (and the goal is to give as little as possible, so you start with a...

    Trouble with Biting

My kitty is about 10 months old.  He is very sweet and playful.  I always play with him really hard before bedtime to wear him out.  He seems sleepy and will purr and cuddle up next to me in bed.  However, he very quickly switches to play-mode and grabs onto my hand with his claws and bites.  ...

Stainless Steel Automatic Wet Food Feeder?

Those are great suggestions; thanks!! I'm not really sure what is causing his allergic reaction, but I know plastic tends to make things worse, so I've just been trying to avoid it. But, one of the automatic feeders looks like the bowls are big enough to fit a ceramic dish inside (which will...

Stainless Steel Automatic Wet Food Feeder?

Hi!  I'm trying to transition my cat to only wet food meals.  But, due to my work schedule, it's hard to make sure he's getting food at the same times every day.  So, I'm looking to buy an automatic feeder for wet food.  I've found a couple on Amazon, BUT my cat has pretty bad allergies and all...

    Advice on Multi-Cat Households

Great! Thanks for the advice!   As far as introductions, I know it might be a little rocky at first.  They have met each other briefly, in an effort to get them at least a little familiar with the smell of one another.  Her cat is also fairly young, so I don't expect it to be too hard of a...
