Any weird things your cats like eating?

My cat Leo liked to eat plastic bags and of course then throw them back up.  No idea why, but I couldn't leave a bag out for more than a couple minutes before he would go after it. My other cat scrapper likes to eat paper, he tears off the edge of envelopes and papers I leave lying around.  He...

Question of the Day, Sunday March 24

Scrapper loves carrots.  Not to eat, he seems to really like how they smell.  When I put a bag of carrots on the counter he jumps right up and starts rubbing against it and purring.  Its hilarious, always makes me smile when I'm making my lunch in the mornings!

    Cat stopped burying eliminations

Hi, I have one 17 year old cat and in the last couple days he has stopped burying his eliminations when he goes to the bathroom.  He has always done this before and actually used to bury my other cat's waste as well.  We lost the other cat, his brother, a couple weeks ago.  I've seen some things...

    older cat behavior

I think the weight loss is a red flag, I would get a second opinion.  Both of my senior cats turned out to be sick (separate occurrences) when they showed sudden weight loss.   Is he going to the bathroom less frequently?  Perhaps he's constipated, one of my guys had an issue with that which of...

    Alternative to Litter Genie?

I used it for several months and not only found the refills too expensive but also hard to find!  I switched over to using a small trash can with a pop up lid that latches shut and I use Arm & Hammer unscented litter.  There is of course an oder when I open the lid to scoop, but in general it...

    Little Leo 6/1996-2/2013

I lost my little Leo earlier this week after nearly 17 years of him being in the family.  My family took him and his brother Scrapper in from a friend who had been caring for a pregnant feral cat shortly after they were born.  Leo was my my cat and the runt of the litter.  It turned out he...

    Cat's back legs not functioning

Unfortunately it turned out to be a blood clot blocking the artery in his leg blocking the blood flow and causing the paralysis.  Given his advanced age, other medical issues and the unpredictable outcome of treatment we ended up letting him go.  My vet supported the decision, she said the...

    Cat's back legs not functioning

He has had the degenerative hind leg issues associated with diabetes for as long as I have been caring for him (about 8 months) but this is a sudden change.  Calling a clinic is a good idea, thanks.  I will see if I can get them to give me some advice.

    Cat's back legs not functioning

Hi, my cat Leo is a 16 year old diabetic.  As of about an hour ago he seems to have lost use of his his back legs.  One seems to be working better than the other but after limping a few steps he just stops and cries.  We live in a single story home and he does not jump on things, so I don't...
