I meant in RL.  As I said, some of the players on showcats.com actually raise & show certain breeds.  The breeds I prefer are: Bombay, Havana Brown, Korat, RagaMuffin, Scottish Fold, and Tonkinese.

As I said, the real Shadowcrest breeds Persians.  As long as I don't use Persians on the site, I'm not in violation of that rule.  Persians are the number 1 breed on the site.  They're not my cup of tea.  Simply put, I'm not a high maintence person, so I wouldn't own or want a high maintence...

my sister in law wants to breed her American Bulldog...

Sadly, this is true.  When I bred dogs, I lost track of how many people contacted me wanting to breed their pet because 'we want the kids to experience the miracle of life' or 'Lil Lucy is so sweet, but she's getting older and we want a pup out of her for the kids.'  During one of those calls...

Because when I joined the site, I didn't know there was a Shadowcrest cattery.  However, the real Shadowcrest breeds Persians.  Persians aren't my cup of tea, therefore as long as I don't have them in the game or use their pics, I'm not in violation of the site's rules.  Plus, Shadowcrest is the...

    Introducing myself

Exactly! I have owned a Siamese, traditional applehead (adopted as a stray), though it was discovered by his behavior he was born a stray. Also discovered the breed wasn't for me.  That's one of the reasons I took the quiz, though I do have some preferences in the cat breeds.

Here's the site for the cat show game: http://www.showcats.com/ There's also a dog showing game, a cattle showing game, a horse racing game, and horse showing game all by the same developers.  Also, there are players on these sites that actually raise & show these animals in RL. The Siamese I...

my sister in law wants to breed her American Bulldog...

Even better research the breed yourself and learn their health problems and the tests that needed to be performed on the breed.  Then quiz them, if they don't know the answers then there's the answer to whether or not they should breed the dogs.  A "breeder" that doesn't know what health...

my sister in law wants to breed her American Bulldog...

Thanks.  When I raised the dogs, since I don't have children they were my children...."furkids".   Therefore the protective instincts were there, that's what you'll find when you spend the time chatting with other breeders (I've found two things out every time-the breeder either had kids and the...

my sister in law wants to breed her American Bulldog...

I raise dogs (German Shepherds & Rottweilers to start, then Dobermans Rottweilers, then last German Shepherds & Labs) over the course of 15 yrs.  I had contracts and microchipped every dog/puppy before they left the property.  All my contracts had a clause in it, 'If mistreatment, abuse or...

Okay, let me put it another way.  I play showcats.com...I "raise & show" Chartruex & Scottish Folds on that site. There is a real cattery with the same name as my username for that site (Shadowcrest).  Therefore, I need a new name for the "bloodlines" That's why I asked about the cattery names. ...

    Introducing myself

Thanks! I know I posted over in the Breeders Corner about the cat breed selector quiz and got scolded for "incorrectly" choosing a breed.  But if that's the way I want to narrow my choices-why can I do that? Kristen

True the quiz was interesting.  But it did assist in narrowing down the choices.  The good thing is, I can always change my choices before getting any cat.  I do have two CATS USA magazines that I use as reference books.   So far, there hasn't been any cat shows within my area, or I've had other...

According to the cat breed selector quiz on animalplanet.com, http://animal.discovery.com/breedselector/catselector.do The last question is: How well do you want a cat to intergrate with other animals.  According to the Bombay's profile on the site, they don't like change in environment.

    Introducing myself

Hi! I'm thirty-one yrs old.  I live in the U.S.  I've owned a seal point Siamese before.  Currently don't have any cats, but have two rescued/adopted dogs (yes, I know this is a cat site).  I've never been to any cat shows, however have seen a program on them.  I've taken a cat breed quiz on...
