That boggles me that he could come through this ordeal just fine. We got 22 inches of snow, my mind kept cycling through all the horrible things that could have happened to him. Such a bad time of year for it too. But it looks like all is well now. Thank you for your response!

My cat got out just before a snowstorm and stayed outside in sub freezing temperatures for 3.5 days. I was thinking the worst, but he came home tonight. He's visibly thinner. I called the emergency vet and they didn't seemed too chuffed about it. He's eating and drinking? Then it's fine...

I posted about getting harness recommendations and it was suggested I post about it here. He is recovering, despite the bullet going through his abdomen and into his leg. There is still a good chance he will lose his leg, but his veterinarian, Dr Love, is doing everything she can to save it...

Thank you for the suggestion! The police have an open case trying to find who shot him. I've done all kinds of publicity and set up a site where people can get updates on his progress. It's been suggested I post about it in the SOS section, so I will. Thank you

My cat has a broken leg (long story - he was shot - for real) and his doctor has said to take him for walks to help him strengthen his leg. Obviously he needs to wear a harness when we go on walks. Do you have any recommendations on one I should get? He's short haired and a healthy weight so...

I'm going to go to the shelter Monday (when my son's in school so I don't get his hopes up) and talk to the staff. Specifically I want to know how he is with other cats. That would be a disaster if we brought him home and he couldn't tolerate other cats. If he can get along with other cats...

Not dizzy or seeming to want to fall to one side? Or walking along the edges of rooms instead of through the middle? If so, that could be vestibular disease. Simple cure with some antibiotics and steroids.

Yes, and I have a new kitten, same thing.  I don't know if no one ever talked about it before, or if a cat had any long hairs it was just considered long haired.  The shelter my son volunteers at recognizes three types now, though - short, long, and half short half long.

Our kittens are 10 weeks old, and they're going to their new homes. I planned on keeping them longer but both my adult cats are attacking them (their mother is completely bipolar, nursing them one minute and scratching, biting and hissing the next). Time for them to go before they get hurt...
