It still sounds to me like she's testing her boundaries, a bit fearful or insecure, and unsure of how she should act.  She IS young.  I know she ran but I wish I could have seen the whole scenario play out.  After she ran did you just walk away and go on with life?  Did she hide under a table...

I don't think cats get it when you touch them in any way, they go in defense mode.  You literally have to scoop them up and put them in solitude.  When you tapped her did she turn around and look at you like you were crazy and she didn't know why you did it?  Probably lol.

I agree with 1 cat.  It does look like you might have startled her from a blind or deaf side, if the case.  Do you think you were coming from that side, I'm just curious?  Because it does make sense...especially if she then thought it was still the other kitty.
