How to cat proof a studio apartment?

I'm planning on moving into a studio in the coming year, after living in a two bedroom apartment that's very well cat-proofed. I'm so nervous about my cat bolting out though, especially since the neighborhood I'm looking at is busy and dangerous - if she got out I'd never find her again. She's...

    Cat got vomit near eye?

Thank you both for the reassurance! I've been keeping an eye on her all day and she seems to be doing okay :)

    Cat got vomit near eye?

My cat just vomited up a hairball, and I noticed she had a small amount of some white substance around her eye. She somehow managed to get vomit there, and I was able to wipe it off without (I hope) getting it in her eye. I'm getting worried that she got some in her eye though, either because of...

How to treat cut on cat's head and prevent scab from being rubbed off

Sorry about the lack of updates, she's doing great! We managed to get the collar on her, but she popped within an hour of having it on. I think we just got really lucky in that she stopped scratching herself long enough to allow the cut to heal on its own a lot - it's almost totally healed up now.

How to treat cut on cat's head and prevent scab from being rubbed off

I asked my partner to come by and help me, so hopefully we have better luck - she's even more aggressive with him though, so I'm not getting my hopes up. I can't believe how good she is at evading us when we're trying to do stuff like this. I'm going to see if we can collar her and if we can't...

How to treat cut on cat's head and prevent scab from being rubbed off

Would you have any advice on how to get the collar on my cat by myself? I'm having such a hard time even getting the e-collar around her neck - she acts very aggressive/feral when she's handled in a way she doesn't like, and she's been fighting me off whenever I try to secure the Velcro on the...

Is Silverquine wound gel safe to use around the eyes?

I bought this to use after coning my cat, but as it turns out the cone I ordered is too small for her. I'd still like to apply the Silverquine to her cut to help it heal, but it's basically right on her eyebrow and I'm afraid of getting the gel into her eyes. I've searched the Silverquine site...

How to treat cut on cat's head and prevent scab from being rubbed off

By e-collar did you mean Elizabethan collar? I found one on Amazon and just placed an overnight order, along with Silverquine which is apparently a wound healing and itch gel. I'm hoping she'd unable to get the collar off, because she can be very persistent when she's feeling uncooperative. The...

How to treat cut on cat's head and prevent scab from being rubbed off

My cat somehow scratched a small chunk of skin off her head a few days ago, but had the wound set into a scab within a day. It's been healing up nicely, but out of nowhere I noticed she'd reopened the cut and it was bleeding again. I think she keeps reopening the wound when she rubs her head...

How to treat cut on cat's head and prevent scab from being rubbed off

My cat made a cut on her head, close to her eye (on her "eyebrow"), while scratching herself. She does this once in a while, but the cut's a bit deeper this time - it looks like she's reopening it as it heals because it itches. Is there anything I can apply on the cut to help it heal faster? My...

Stopping cat from compulsively scratching her neck?

My partner's cat is about 8 months old, and was adopted a couple months ago while she was pregnant. She'd been living outside for a while, and he had no idea she was pregnant because she was so tiny. She's since given birth and the vet's having him wait to get her spayed, but she literally went...

Why does my cat walk around when I pet her?

My cat is very affectionate and attached to me, but shows it in slightly "odd" ways. At night she'll always sleep on my legs after kneading them, follows me around the house when I'm awake, and presses her butt against my legs for attention. When she's half-asleep she'll let me pet her without...

18 year old diabetic cat with liver failure

My partner's been treating his 18-year-old male senior cat for diabetes for the last four months, but we haven't yet seen him go into remission. His blood sugar's been up and down since he got on insulin, but his appetite and behavior have both been very good. The main change we've noticed has...

Cat was exposed to smoke in enclosed room

Thank you all for your comments, and really appreciate what you said, CatladyJan - everything I've found online seems to be about house fires and I just didn't know what would happen to her. I can't really tell how long the food was burning since the burner was on low heat, but was shocked from...

Cat was exposed to smoke in enclosed room

I live with somebody abusive, who until now has never bothered my cat. I'm in the process of removing him from my home though, and he responded to that yesterday by leaving something to burn on the stove for about three hours. When I came home the living room was clouded with smoke, and my cat...
