My cat just vomited up a hairball, and I noticed she had a small amount of some white substance around her eye. She somehow managed to get vomit there, and I was able to wipe it off without (I hope) getting it in her eye. I'm getting worried that she got some in her eye though, either because of me or because it got in her face.

Is she at risk of developing an eye infection? She is very ornery when I try to handle her for medical things, so I'm a little worried.

All you can do is watch it and see if anything comes of it. You could take a very wet clean cloth and wipe her eye (obviously, she will close it), just to add an extra layer of caution. But I would imagine if any of the vomit actually got in her eye, she would have teared up and the tears would have 'washed' it out.
