Unfortunately, this is how I feel about 2017

Hey, you got to be prepared.
War report.

Attempt of taking over bed of sleep has failed once again, with greatest scientific minds perfect plan was crafted, as is known, cat poops every time after eating, so providing generous dinner for cats currently occupying bed of sleep should of been made them move to outer areas as has been observed in studies, however cat clan obviously got informed about a plan and instead retreating from bed of sleep, they took strategical positions from bed of sleep and started napping.

Clearly this demands a study about how cat clan found out our purrrfect plan, I suspect a spy somewhere.

On to plan 329-4b...
Watch out for the dolls. They'll flip on a dime.

There was a measles epidemic earlier  this year in the US so I don't believe it has been eradicated by now
I think we (humans) are just going to have to accept that there are some diseases that just can't be eradicated. Two cases in point: influenza and whatever that virus is that causes the common cold.

Sorry if this posts multiple times. I'm having trouble on my end.

I'm not 100% clueless about cars and neither is John.  We can probably get in there and check the wires and connections ourselves.  I know how to handle minor stuff.  Thank you, Grandpa!  I can even change my oil but I don't cuz getting under the car is a pain in the butt.  If it's more complicated than replacing a blinker bulb or changing brake pads, I'm as clueless as the next person.  But being to handle minor things saves money once in a while.

:lol3: Ok, well, thats good. More than I know how to do!

I have survived a month and a half working 50 - 60 hour weeks at Amazon!  My house is a mess, litter boxes need a really good cleaning, water fountains too. So glad most of my Christmas shopping was done before I started working.  The job should last another 2 weeks at least but will be calmer.  Working until 1:30 am really messes with my sleeping time.  The cats still expect to be fed in the morning.

I miss walking Eclipse. I took him early one day last week and while I wasn't holding the leash some birds landed in the back of the yard and he took off after them. He ran behind the Oleander bush (huge, 10+ years old) where I do not fit and got into the neighbor's yard.  Of course they weren't home and they lock their gates.  I climbed over the 6 ft privacy fence and got the escapee and handed him over to DD who was out by then.  He has been running out the door on a regular basis the past two weeks.  DH wants a pad by the door that activates a light when the cat is there so he will know not to open the door and let him out.

Gerry has grown quite a bit and is no longer kitten sized.  Fluffy still can't decide if she likes her or not.  Sometimes they touch noses and other times they stalk each other.

DH got a kick out of the Christmas cards addressed to the cats.  We taped theirs lower on the door so they could admire them.

@Tallyollyopia is it time for another excerpt of MS and E?

The problem is that the common cold virus mutates so quickly.  You only catch ONE version of it once, but there are so many out there.  That's why you catch fewer and fewer colds as you get older, you've developed immunity to most of them.  One of the few REAL perks about getting old, which is NOT for sissies!

My immunity comes from having an annual flu shot. And now we seniors can have a once-in-a-lifetime pneumonia shot, which I had this year.

I have the flu shot, as well, but that is totally different from the cold virus.  One doesn't protect from the other.  But since you are a senior, like me, you've probably already had, and have immunity to, MOST cold viruses.  I got the pneumonia shot, too!

There are a lot of strains of the cold virus. Also the flu virus---which is why they give you a flu shot every year; they try to guess what strain will show up that year. Those viruses mutate and change all the time, which is why they can't be eradicated. Measles CAN be eradicated though. . .if everybody possible would just get their kids the vaccine!

Sigh.  Add Debbie Reynolds to the ever growing list of 2016's victims.  She passed away today from a stroke suffered while making funeral arrangements for Carrie Fisher.  It just seems unbearably sad.

I know I've spent a lot of time complaining about my job.  Sorry if it's getting annoying.  But I hate it.  I just had some guy very rudely tell me to get a real job.  I wonder if he would be happier if I just kept getting pregnant and having kid after kid so I could live off welfare?  Or I could make and sell drugs?  At least I'm working.  That's not a dig against people who are unable to work.  My point is, I don't think you should look down on anyone who's working for a living, regardless of what their job is - as long as it's legal, that is.

Yes, it is.  No parent should ever have to bury his/her child.

Has anyone checked on Betty White and Willie Nelson recently?

I'm also getting worried about Angela Lansbury.  She's 90.   Still working on the stage, too.

So sad about Debbie Reynolds. I remember when Eddie dumped her and her two babies to go after Elizabeth Taylor, who then dumped him to go after Richard Burton. It was a big scandal, and Debbie was everyone's sweetheart after he did that to her.

These things are so hard on the family.  I guess that leaves, what, one of Carrie's siblings still alive?  Two?  Losing their sister and mother in what amounts to one fell swoop.

Betty White is still with us, despite rumors to the contrary.  http://en.mediamass.net/people/betty-white/deathhoax.html   However, either this is also a hoax, or someone has set up a GoFundMe page to protect her from 2016: http://rare.us/story/donating-to-th...ium=email&utm_campaign=Newsletter_Rare_People   (BTW, while you're welcome to put money into this project if you want to, I seriously doubt the efficacy of this plan.)

Apparently Willie Nelson is still alive, as well.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Nelson   For now.

I applied for a job at the local drug & alcohol rehab place.  They have an opening for an associate counselor.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

A trainee that meets the requirements for registration, supervision, and professional development as set forth by either:
1. The Missouri Substance Abuse Counselors Certification Board, Inc.: OR
2. The appropriate board of professional registration with the Department of Economic Development for licensure as a psychologist, professional counselor, or social worker;

If I'm reading that right, I don't have to have any kind of license or certification, right?  I hope not.

Honestly, if I can handle listening to people whine because they didn't like the color of the car they rented, I'm sure this job will be a cinch.

Also, I'm 3 classes away from getting my Associates Degree in General Studies.  I'll finish my last class at the end of June.  Time to start looking into nursing school.

So, I guess I do need a degree.  I  think.  I have a headache.  Eh, I applied.  If I'm not qualified, they won't call and I won't be any worse off than I am now.
