Anybody purchased window insert w/cat door ? Recommendations?

I currently have a home made window insert with cat door installed but with cold weather coming too many leaks for cold air and bugs to enter so I was looking for a better way to let my cats out into the cat pen for fresh air and sun.

Does anybody have any recommendation for a good weather tight fitting one?

We're looking for the same kind of solution--a cat door in a glass sliding door into a catio.  If you come up something good, please post!

I'd check out what people recommend for small dogs. I think more dog owners install those slider pet doors.

So gave up on cat people and ordered an aluminum sash insert with door from Amazon for around $95.

Will give a review when it comes in this week.

Please do let us know if it works well for you.  That might be something my mother could utilize for her crew and an addition that doesn't heat properly!

Update on sash cat small window with door from Amazon.

Finally got it installed. Part of the problem is that I have a two story cat cage outside so of course I had to change the height of one story to match the new window/insert door.

Overall the quality of the unit is very good. The cost was $90+ so it should be! Anyway the unit is heavy and seems to insulate well...no drafts except we now have to re-educate our 3 cats to the new door so we have it wired "open " during the day so they can go in and out.

There are some gaps at the sides which we will have to address shown in the pics...well apparently can't do pics?. I also had to set it on a thick piece of foam to raise it up enough for the knurled knobs which are used to tighten the sides to clear the sill bottom.

Overall I am pleased. Not a custom fit but also not $200+ either.

Looked at the tutorial but my post does not have a bar which shows browse and other boxes or options. I think it is a thing the moderator has to "bestow" on you?

I am familiar with most websites and their modes of posting pics and videos but without the option to do so.....

Just an iPad at home

I give up on finding a way to post on my iPad. Guess I am just not that computer literate. I can see the task bar on my old hp but pics are on the cloud. Anyway....

The window is installed and I have pictures of the installation and the connection to my newly constructed outside cat cage or catkatraz as I call it. Two story connected to the window with a door separating the two halves. Easy construct in one day using two 25 ft rolls of wire, 2 sheets of 1/4" plywood and 12 2x4s. I actually also built a three story for the three fur babies we keep in the garage as well connected to a cat door.

Anyway if anybody wants pics or more info email me with your email and I will send pics back bypassing the forum.
