good morning!

today i've got cookies on my mind -- fresh home-baked cookies! i dearly love cookies, most but not all kinds of them. it's way too warm here to be baking, but i'm looking forward to fall and weather that's more comfortable for baking again.

so for today's Question of the Day......

What is your favorite kind of cookie(s)? Are they store-bought or home-baked?

i'll start!

it's hard for me to choose a favorite kind of cookie
, but i think it's got to be Crispy Coconut cookies. Oatmeal Peanut Butter cookies take a close second place. i also love Oatmeal Raisin cookies, and Oatmeal Scotchies (in a pan) -- oatmeal cookies with butterscotch chips in them.
i prefer home-baked over store-bought, but i can get by with store-bought cookies.

i don't 'do' chocolate, so no cookies with chocolate or cocoa powder in them here.
i do plan on buying carob chips in bulk this fall though, so carob chip cookies, oatmeal carob chip cookies, and etc are in my near-ish future! i just love carob.

so, how about you?

Homemade Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies.  A close second would be Peanut Butter Blossoms.

Store bought: Pepperidge Farms Milanos. OMG can eat the whole bag in one sitting. Totally addictive. And is why I don't buy them LOL

Homemade: Chewy Ginger cookies. The recipe I like best is kind of a pain, the dough is really heavy and stiff but wow, SO worth it.  Having said that, I rarely bake my own.  I love to cook but I'm not much of a baker.

Lemon Spongecake Cookies

King Arthur's Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Macadamia Nut and Vanilla Chip Cookies

They're all homemade

The only cookies we buy are Oreo DoubleStuf cookies.

I don't have a favorite. I love them all, homemade. Lemon Bars, Berry Bars, Toffee Bars, Almond Crescents, Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter. Not crazy about sugar cookies, and I haven't found an oatmeal cookie recipe yet that I really like.

White Chocolate and Macadamia Nut. Which is contradicting, as I don't like white chocolate or nuts, but together it is quite pleasant and smooth. And I like the chewyness!

And Toffee Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies. But they have to be chewy. I don't like crunchy or crumbly. Bakery quality type of chewy; don't get them in packages as they are either stiff or not a very nice version of chewy.

I also like Snickerdoodles, Shortbread and Sugar Cookies. Cinnamon and Ginger also, but they have to be the chewy type. As usual
 I'm so prejudice.

Least favourite: Raisin Oatmeal
or any others that have oatmeal or fruit in it. Or other types of nuts. And at the risk of getting a sniper shot to the head - vegan cookies.

These Christmas cookies my mom used to make with a super shooter cookie press. They were kind of like sugar cookies but slightly savory, I think there was cream cheese in the batter or maybe sour cream.
She doesn't remember anymore. But man I would jump through flaming hoops for one of those cookies.

I haven't found any vegan baked goods that I care for.  It's a texture thing for me.

Plain old sugar cookies.  All the better if they are hand-decorated.   I even do a killer pork loin with a sugar-cookie crust (not JUST sugar cookies, but they are the main ingredient.  I serve it with a raspberry sauce, or on sandwiches with raspberry preserves.

My favorite cookies are iced sugar (or butter)  cookies that are from a recipe handed down from my mother so I can really relate to both of these answers!  She would make them for Christmas and each one was a work of art, though it took me growing up to recognize how much time went into each one.  Yum, they were so incredibly good!   Also, the cookie dough was positively scrumptious and I spent time in my room more than once for making raids on the fridge where the dough sat chilling.

Homemade chocolate chip cookies with walnuts!

As for store bought.. reeses peanut butter cup oreos and fudge striped short bread cookies. I also enjoy the pepperidge farm milano ones. The candy cane milano cookies with chocolate around Christmas are to die for too!

Are you talking about spritz cookies? I have a recipe for spritz that we make every year around the holidays. It calls for 3 ounces of cream cheese.

Those sound delicious.  You wouldn't mind sharing the recipe would you?
