Wonderful! I knew it would make her happy, and the orphans have a mom! This is beautiful!

Are you fostering them through an organization that will help with expenses and finding homes?

Could not have asked for a better ending! :)

Aww! So they are really her babies and yours now! God bless! :)

I'm getting all choked up. This is so sweet! Thank you for doing this for your cat and these orphans.

Absolutely!

Keep us posted on her progress with the little ones. And ask questions as the need arises!

This is so amazing. I am so happy for you and your mamma cat. She looks so pleased to be taking care of those babies. I can't wait to read more updates!

Everyone seems to be settled in. The multicolored one is kind of small. I am watching that one closely. I did watch him latch on and eat for a good long time this morning.
Mom is amazing, she came out to get me so she could eat. She wouldn't eat until I babysat. She made one great Momma. :)

Mom is so precious.  I love the look of bliss on her face.  I am so glad you found kittens for her to nurse and manage to save 4 kittens that would not have lived otherwise.

This warms the bottom of my heart! My cat did the same thing with not leaving her kittens unless I babysat. Went on for many weeks. As they got older, she would leave them with me and go upstairs and take a big nap on my bed. She was so tired back then.

Do you have kitten formula and a syringe to supplement if need be? It's good you're keeping an eye on the runt to make sure it's eating. If you have a kitchen scale you can weigh it to make sure. The kittens should double their birth weight in the first week with gains of .5 ounces per day.

The black with white on either side is a stunning visual against mama!

Do you know what happened to the birth mother cat?

We did get formula and droppers and bottles.
I can get a scale. They have nursed nonstop. They Fall asleep eating.
The couple that brought them said mom cat had them and then ran off and didn't come back.
The white ones are big and strong. They all fight over nipples.
But I do watch to make sure they all latch and suck.
She is doing a great job. I am also giving her kitten milk in small quantities.
I'm betting we keep them all. All my kids have named them already. :)

Aww - you are doing such a good job yourself!

You said you have 4 kids and now you have 4 kittens! :) I hope you do keep them all. The Humane Society performs low-cost spays and neuters. I had my mama cat spayed at 8 weeks and the kittens fixed at 12 weeks. I kept my four too ;).

I think weighing the runt is a good idea. Is it staying latched and/or near a nipple most of the time?

Giving mom KMR is excellent! :)

That's so wonderful that you found kittens who needed a Mom, for your Momma Cat who lost her kittens.  Momma looks content.

What's Momma's name?   And babies' names?

Sarthur2 Sarthur2 The runt latches and sucks very well.
They all have nice round tummys and are pooping.
I honestly can't get out to get a scale today, but I am watching very closely and am ready to step in.
I picked him up and Momma freaked lol.

Honestly, it sounds like they are all doing great!

Just keep an eye out, but if all four have a nipple and nurse at the same time then it sounds good! :)

Just to double check, if she wasn't full of milk properly, would they nurse anyway?
I'm just double checking.

Yes, they will be getting colostrum the first couple of days anyway. But they would mew a lot if getting nothing.

Do they cry a lot?

Are her mammary glands filling with milk?

She has bags around her nipples.
They don't cry out at all unless she leaves them.
I just didn't see actual milk, but a lot of wet around them.
They all nurse and then sleep.
