Ok I'll have a look, I just found this one by royal cabin. What do you think?
I do think there is a big chance that is why, but bluntly, it really doesn't matter why. You should definitely leave him with her and let him get what he can from her (lots of benefits to him suckling and being with her other than just nutrition). There is even a chance she is producing enough milk and for whatever reason he just isn't taking enough. Whatever the reason for his low weight gain, what you need to do is the same- feed him as much as he will take every few hours. Thanks I will do this straight away. He wasn't premature, the vets said he was at first but then told us when we went back to pick them up that he wasn't. He was only in an incubator while his mum was coming round from the anaesthetic. Then he was introduced to her.
I had no choice but to have her spayed, the vets said it was a necessity so I just said do it then. Do you think this is why he's not getting enough milk from Tiggs?
If milk is coming back out the nose stop feeding immediately. Turn him upside down and allow milk to drain if necessary. If his lungs sound raspy, that is very serious and you should take him to a vet. Thanks, I've just given him some. I felt awful practically forcing him but.like you said it needs to be done. I'm scared though because what if I give him too much at a time. He's just taken 1.4ml of me but.it look like it was coming back through his nose, not sure if it was but it looked like it. I was really patient and only put the tiniest drop of milk in his cheek at a time. Please let me know if I'm doing this right because I've never had to do this before!
Usually weighing just once a day at the same time is the best way to get an 'accurate' feel of how a kitten is doing. Glad he is slightly up though.I just weighed him. He's 117g.

I knew this much at least lol, luckily I had already seen it on another thread. Thanks :-)Yes I want to stress he must be fed belly down NEVER on his back
