Thanks Laurie!!   Yes, even though the dry is grain free too, that will be hard. I think he likes having the different texture.

BUT, Today I did go to the Natural food pet store, & bought our first box of Bravo Complete Turkey Patties!!!!!!!
( I was just waiting on pay day).

Now, I will be ready for when he comes home.  I also spent 2 hours getting all the cleaning & some laundry done when I got home. I wanted everything

done, in hopes my baby will be able to come tomorrow.
This way it will be nice & quiet here. (well, it usually is, because it's just the two of us, but I won't be

making noise cleaning) :)   I pray he doesn't have to stay over the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   "Pee baby, Pee!!!"

OH, and I'm sure they are going to want me to buy some "special food," sense they think it's diet related, but I will just tell them that I will be doing raw!!

"I am not buying that crap!!!!!!!" (Especially because it most likely will be chicken, & we finally got his skin to where it's doing much better!)

   Oh let's hope he likes it! I would try mixing just a little bit (like a small teaspoon!) into his wet food (or offering him just a little first, see if he likes it!) Raw changes their internal pH balance, and there's just nothing inflammatory in the diet, so that's my guess as to why kitties with crystals and bladder problems do so well on it. :dk: I just know they drink almost no water anymore, and yet there is a LOT of pee in the boxes, and even little Flowerbelle has big pee clumps. :lol3:

Thanks Laurie!  Yes, I hope he likes it too, although when I gave him some of the beef Patti the store owner gave me to try last week, he licked his bowl clean!!!

I mixed little bits of it in with his food over the rest of the weekend, to make it last.  I hope he likes the turkey just as much!

Today's Update, Fri. 8-10

I called the vet's this morning, & he still hasn't gone on his own, so they put in a catheter.
They are also going to keep him over the weekend.

I hope he goes by then!  The culture did test positive for bacteria, but don't know what kind yet, & when they do, they will switch his antibiotic to

which ever is needed.  He is also on pain meds.

"I just want my baby home." I'm going to go see him after work today, but I know It will just make me
to see him in pain.  I don't want to disappoint him

in that when he sees me he thinks he will get to come home, but I miss him!!!!

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh I'm SO sorry he has to stay the weekend! :hugs: :hugs: :rub:

But WOW it sounds like he's in REALLY good hands! I am happy for that.

But it's almost "good" that they found bacteria. This might not be IC, and the antibiotics may resolve the whole thing! :cross: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

good luck and hopefully he gets better quickly over the weekend!  I agree it might be good that they found bacteria because now they can be sure to be treating the right thing!!  Good vibes and hang in there! Sounds like they are keeping a good watch on him and working hard to figure it out!

Oh no!  This is not the update I wanted to read!!  However, I am glad they are keeping him and monitoring him.  Maybe if they give him some antibiotics, it'll help with whatever bacteria he's got going on and that might decrease his pain level so he'll go.  Poor boy!  I know this is just nerve-wracking for you.

Thanks Stephanie,  Yes, he is already on antibiotics, they will just be able to switch to a more specific one, once they know what kind of bacteria it is.

He is on pain meds too, thank goodness!!  I am going to see him after work today, & that's going to be hard for me, but I don't want him to think I've abandoned

him. :(   I am even thinking about sleeping w/ one of his bath towels tonight, to get my scent on it, & take it there for him in the morning before work.

Good idea to take something with your scent on it to him.  I did that when Hannah was at the vet's for a week.  They liked it when I came because she always ate for me.  I left a fresh towel for her each time I went.  Be sure to put your name on the towel with a Sharpie.  You could also take an old dirty t-shirt.

"GOOD NEWS,"   HE PEED, HE PEED!!!!!!

Poor baby, you can tell he's "on stuff"

He's been laying in /under the "library," so I put his blanky there.

I think he likes it because it's a cozy little nook. (even though he has a nice bed in my room).

WOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  What awesome news AND you got to bring him home!!  YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The zenequin is an antibiotic.  It's powerful stuff, too!  He may have a hard time tolerating the dosage.  When we had Hannah on it, the vet's office had forgotten to cut the pills in half for us, so we just gave her the whole pill.  They were surprised she could tolerate it as the vet's office recommend gradually working up to the full dose.  Read online for the side effects and keep an eye on him for those.  http://www.ehow.com/about_6400013_zeniquin-urinary-tract-infections-cats.html   and

Amitriptyline is an anti-depressant which probably is the anti-spasmodic.  http://www.vetinfo.com/side-effects-amitriptyline-cats.html/

Urispas is a pain reliever used with kitties with urinary problems.  I couldn't find much info online about it.

Poor guy does look like he's been through the wringer!  Hope being at home helps him feel better quickly.

Thanks so much for looking those up Steph! I hadn't had time yet. I just got around to posting that at 10:45 last night.  Thankfully, Angel had already had his meds for the day, so didn't have to do that last night. Okay, so maybe it's the anti-depressant/ ant-spasmodic that's making him extra lovey!!

This morning, I gave him a capsule with all three of his pills in it, & squirted some water in his cheek w/a syringe, to make sure it was washed down.

I haven't seen him drink any water sense he's been home, so I can see why the fluids will be important, but hope he drinks on his own. I put an extra bowl of water

in the office, where he's hanging out. It looked like he may have peed last night, but the clay litter I bought didn't clump, so not sure. (The store I went to didn't have the Feline Pine clumping, I didn't know if the clay would clump or not, guess not. I'm going today to get some F.P. clumping!!)

I just hate that I have to work today, & my hair apt. is after, so won't be home 'till probably around 5:00.  "His first day home, & mommy's not there."

I'm sure he is resting & sleeping.

"Thanks for your support!!!!!!!"

I always add water to my kitties' wet food in the morning and evening just to be sure they're drinking enough.  I make their food the consistency of oatmeal.  They drink plenty through the day, but this just gives them a bit more.   To help with pilling, you can get some Pill Pockets and stick the pill inside.  That might help.  Also, since he's been getting fluids, he's less likely to drink because his body is already hydrated.

Good idea. I will do that. I mixed about a 1/8th?? (sliver) of his first Bravo Complete Turkey Pattie in w/ his by nature last night. He did o.k. , but I think he just wasn't that hungry, & I didn't know what/ when he had last eaten at the Vet's. Yes, I do have some pill pockets, I will probably use those when I finish whats in the capsules, sense the vet tech was nice enough to cut the big pills in half & put them in already. I did the others & added to them last night. :)

:wow: GOOD BOY, ANGEL! I missed the update last night! :woohoo:    I'm SO GLAD he peed and is BACK HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh what a relief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI, he might not be hungry partially because of all those fluids. :)

And the amitriptyline won't work that quickly - it takes 14 days to peak and have steady blood serum levels, so my guess is it's the pain meds making him extra lovey. :lol3: Whenever one of our kitties comes home dopey from anesthesia, they're VERY, unusually loving. :lol3:

Sounds like he's in good hands! I'm so sorry you two have had to go through this, but hopefully after this course of fluids and meds he'll be all fixed up! :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

Im so glad he is home, hopefully he will be all fixed up and no more problems here soon.

After you give fluids the first time, any other time will be no big deal. I was a bit squimish the first time I did it but now it is no big deal. As long as Angel is good during it it should be a piece of cake. You might be able to keep him still while you give them to him with some treats or yummy wet food.
