We have currently 6 fosters, all from the same neglect/hoarding situation. The oldest estimated at 5 with scattered ages down to approximately 8 months. At first Taylor was very difficult, if we wanted to pet her it had to be done while she hid under the dresser. She had some medical issues with flea infestation, mites and worm. Rodent ulcers from flea allergy. Once she her mouth healed enough that she was eating regularly, she blossomed into an entirely different cat. She is the first to greet us, meows frequently looking for attention. The problem is, as she has gained confidence she is now chasing off the other cats and striking them, some nasty scratches. What is the best way to correct this behavior?
