I'd be going with a furniture store right now.

Easy-Peasy; I could drop that much, and then some, in ten minutes at Rockler. One Delta table saw, an 8" jointer, and a Powermatic 14" band saw. Done.

Yep; just that table saw, what is referred to as a cabinet saw, goes for about $3,500. The band saw is another $1,700 or so, and the jointer, a tool to obtain dead-straight edges on boards is another $1,000 or so for a basic one.

An Amish furniture store, we are close to Amish country. It is expensive so one or two pieces may be all that $5,000 would buy. It is worth it though. That is the kind of furniture which can be passed down through generations.

Considering our basement just flooded last week and the insurance isn't covering it. I'm taking that money to a Home Depot type store to help replace what was damaged.

Maybe 30 years ago, we stopped at that all non-electric store in Kidron. Even then, they had a fancy wood stove that was over $3,000, what with all the nickel fittings and such. I can't remember the name of the store now, but I recall there being a couple of tour buses parked outside of the place.

There's a local TV & appliance store ... I need to replace my fridge and stove (both are probably 20+ years old, neither my mom nor I can remember when my grandparents/her parents got the current ones, but it was around 2000). This local store offers 5 year warranties and has their own labor crew (not outsourced) to work on the products they sell. I bought my dishwasher, dryer, and washing machine through them, and these are the only remaining major appliances, but this store has my business for life. They also sell mattresses, so I'd probably grab a really nice one.

Think I’d find some way of giving it to the Ukraine, if possible. If not, have been ogling those battery chainsaws at the local hardware store.
