Well, we have a new outside cat. Background, we live at the end of a dirt road in the boonies. MIL (who lives up the road) has a barn and used to have livestock, hence the barn cats. The livestock has been sold but the barn cats are still here. We've gotten a lot of them spayed/neutered but people keep dumping more on us.
Last night we were greeted with a very demanding "meow" and a BEAUTIFUL tabby walked right up to us and starting rubbing on us looking for food. Now, this is NOT one of the barn cats, and he seems to be only 8-9 months old. His tail is GORGEOUS!! I swear, when he holds it upright it is as big around as my husband's forearm. A beautiful tabby (as yes, he is an intact male). I know he's not a barn cat because not only could I pick him up, but I could turn him over and rub his belly while he just purred his little head off.
He wants in the house SO bad. We're going to put signs w/ pics down at the neighborhood store to see if he got out from a house around here, but I think he was probably just dumped. Why do people do that? If they want to, can't they include $20 to help for the feeding costs? I can't just let these guys starve. I spend more money on food for animals than I do on our food. He is such a sweetie though....
