Ok I have been trying to contact her but I have not been able to get through (she has a litter of orphaned kittens to care for so its not surprising!). Follow this link and leave and call or email: them:http://www.animalrescueandcare.org.uk/adopt.asp

Good Luck!

BTW if you want an Oriental kitten try a breeder they will probably be very happy you are keeping the kitty indoors.

I probably shouldn't suggest this but do you know of any rescues near you that don't do home checks? When I was looking for my first cats I knew I'd have problems as I wanted to keep them indoors so I deliberately went to a local rescue where I knew they didn't do homechecks and got 2 kittens. They were well looked after and had been vaccinated but obviously they didn't have time to do homechecks and didn't ask questions. I'd done my research and knew they'd be ok as indoor cats so long as I provided lots of opportunities for play etc. I do agree with homechecks in principle but sometimes you have to do what you have to do! There probably is a rescue somewhere near you that would rehome kittens to an indoor home as they all vary in their attitude to indoor cats, but it might take a while to find the right place and the right cat. Alternatively you could check out kittens advertised in the local paper, but bear in mind they probably won't be wormed, de-flead or have had any kind of health check.

I do agree with taking your time though, even though it sounds like Radar would really benefit from having another kit around the place. If you want a pedigree it's just a case of deciding on the breed and checking the kittens available pages of GCCF/FIFE affiliated breed clubs. When I found Mosi and went to see him he was about 11 weeks and it wasn't long before I was able to bring him home. I'd avoid classified ads etc for pedigrees as they are usually back street breeders or kitten farms and even if the cats turn out to be healthy you don't want to be inadvertently supporting such people.

YES, get another cat same gender and age. It works miracles and your heart will soar when you see them playing with and grooming each other.

Over the river and through the woods...
I would definitely call around to vet offices to see if they know of any "oops" kittens. If the vet knows about them, that means the owners care for and about their animals. Who knows..there may be an oriental mix kitty someone has for a good home. My vets lets people put up "looking for" messages on his bulletin board also so you could specify a certain type of animal. Something to look into.

Also, do you have a laser pointer? My cats will spend HOURS chasing that thing! Save the arm a lot of work. We got our last one (we've gone thru dozens) on ebay for almost nothing.

Good luck and keep your sanity!
