Why Walking A Cat On A Led Or Leash Is A Good Thing !

Most people have been conditioned to believe 2 things. One a cat won't and can't be walked on a leash. The 2nd thing is cats need to roam free, it is there nature. Well it's first not safe for the cats especially in urban areas. Also not safe for wild life. And lastly. The laws are changing, for cats and most animals to be walked on a leash. Any animal can and have been walked on a leash. When cats were being domesticated by early humans in the middle east they were leashed. In japan no animals can roam free. Domestic animals must be leashed or inside. They have less strays/feral domestic/pet type of of animals. Leashes keep everyone safe. How ever walking cat on a leash is different than a dog or farm type animal. If you let the cat feel lime they are walking you. They are more likely to walk on a led. You do need to get they use to wearing a leash or harness. You can walk them around the home first. And let them just wear the leash or harness with out a walk to get comfortable. Also don't let hem roam free outside by themselves, it is not safe and illegal in most cities. Make them understand no going out with out a leash.
