Why must we give the toys a bath?

I've seen this with other cats, but never had one that did it. Isaac insists on leaving his sparkle balls in his water dish. At least every other day I find a ball floating in his bowl. It's cute but why do they do this?

I was always wondering about that too. My
Cleo
always gave her rosie-the-rat toy a bath but none of her other toys. So she had extra waterbowls...2 for drinking and one to bathe rosie

Sigh, fuzzy balls, fuzzy mice, towels, bathcloths......you name it, it has been found in my waterbowls at home, now only a couple of mice since we switched to the fountain several months ago, so go figure!.....Now if Tigs would just stop toting off my bathtub stopper, all would be well!

That cracks me up, I can't tell you how many times I've had the search for the bath tub stopper. I think the kicker was when I found my bathroom rung in my front room. What were they thinking?

Thank God I'm not the only one! I took a long hot bath last night, and as per normal, Tigs sat with me the whole time......I made the mistake of putting the stopper on the outside edge of the tub when I pulled it out, he promptly picked it up and took it out into the hall!

My kitty does this too. We get the tiny fuzzy mice from Wal-Mart (its the ONLY bought toys she plays with, other than her wand), and usually don't see she's done it (she does it when we're asleep, or not home) until its soaked for a while and changed the water in the bowl some funky neon colour >_<

buy ping pong balls, they float and cats love em!

I have had a cat that jumped up and knocked every friggen refrigerator magnet off the fridge door every night, one that stole rings, watches and earrings and glasses and buried them upstairs in her litter pan one that runs outside grabs a walnut off the tree and runs back inside and plays for hours with the walnut next to his trunk of cat toys! LOL Cats, gotta love em

ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
Rosies never dropped any of her toys in the water bowl but Sophie does!.

It's not every day but at least 2-3 times a week she does it!.

She waits for the wrapper off a chocolate biscuit that i've had to play with and i'll tie a couple of knots in it. There was one in her bowl tonight when i got home but sometimes theres been a ball floating as well

I agree with Hissy... my cats LOVE our ping pong balls, so much, we bought 9 ping pong balls, and have to search for one every time we want to play! We can't find them because the cats steal them! It's hilarious to watch them, too, but annoying when you want to play ping pong.

CJ and Billy don't drop toys in their water bowl, but CJ makes a HUGE mess when she plays IN the water! Her poor little paws will be wet to the "knee length" when she finishes playing!!!

My favorite is when they knock the toy mousies under the sofa, under the refrigerator, under any closet door and of course we are trained to retrieve for them!!

Not in
Cleo's

and droped them in the waterdish

Henri, drops his toy mice in his food bowl whenever he is hungry and I have not come home in time for dinner.

He has a habit of dragging dirty socks into his water bowl. Only socks out of the dirty pile never clean ones. Sometimes dish towels.

Goofy kitty
