why does he massage my legs

I had Pasha who's 2 for a month now and we've finally reached a good place. He is comfortable enough to come and sit on my lap however before he does so he'd always "massage" my thighs - where's about to sit - with his little hands. He does that for a minute or so and then suddenly stops and sits down. Has anyone come across this and what does it mean???

Cats knead (massage - but I like to call it "making bread" like they're kneading dough ) when they're content and comfortable. Usually if they find a spot they want to lie, they'll knead around and get comfier before plopping down, and some will continue to knead. Here's an article describing some reasons why cats knead:

My kitten does that all the time. Quite often she gets on my lap or chest, kneads me for five minutes, then goes and lays on another part of the couch! She only does it to me, too (but then again, I'm the only person whose lap she will sit on, too).
