why clip nails?

i may try clipping his nails this weekend, with my bf's help. will report back on how it goes

We started by playing with their feet and toes when they were kittens so now they don't mind us holding their legs and feet in our hands. I often just sit and hold and stroke Bijou's paw. Also they are easier to cut if the kitty is in "sleep mode", or just waking. We also trim the rear claws although they don't need clipping as often.

Bijou kneads my face and neck while suckling on my neck before he settles down to sleep - if I didn't clip his nails, I'd look like I was attacked by Freddie from Elm Street.

I cut all the cats nails. B never did Patches and Beauty's back claws (they're declawed in the front) and a while back I saw that the nails were peeling (ew).

Whitey seems to be in a coma when he sleeps, so that's the best time for me to clip him. Same with Luna although she doesn't sleep as deep as Whitey.
