hi everyone,
I'm new here. English is not my native language so please pardon me for any mistakes.
I had my male cate neutered 6 days ago but now I'm noticing an off white creamy discharge sticking around his penis which becomes hard once it dries. I also noticed his penile opening swelled up today. I spoke to my vet on the phone and he said that his anal glands need to be cleaned. I'm not sure how that can be related or if he's just trying to make money.
There is also hardness around his penis and abdomen, it is in two separate places, one extending about an inch and half down to his penile opening and the other around his penile opening. He has been eating fine and no diet change has been noticed and since he's being fed primarily wet food so he is not drinking as much but does drink some water once or twice a day. He was quite active and playful until yesterday but as of today he is looking and acting lethargic. He is not meowing or showing any sign of pain.
I am attaching a picture of what I saw.
Any input and help would be greatly appreciated in understanding what this could be. I will be taking him to the vet in the next few hours.
Regards,
Concerned and worried cat owner.
